Uncommitted 2027s

Team 1: Lime Green

Tyler Smeiska C / OF / Mukwonago, WI / 2027

From 2/26/25: “proved why he is a ranked player in our 2027 class with an impressive showing on Sunday. Smeiska possesses considerable strength in his hands and in his compact frame overall. The backstop measured at a 5-foot-7, 166 pounds with athletic proportions. He was all over the barrel throughout his round showcasing quite a bit of fluidity and hitability with the bat. His 95 mph max EV was one of the top marks among the 2027 group. His throwing arm from behind the plate has really ticked up and was 80 mph from the crouch in throwing runners out. He also registered a solid 2.05 pop time from behind the plate. Smeiska is a name to know in the state.”

Michael Petfalski SS / 2B / Waukesha South, WI / 2027

From 3/22/25: “compact frame with tons of twitch and quickness. He started his day by running a 6.80 seconds 60-yard dash (5th best at the event) and jumped 27.4 inches (5th best). The athletic right-handed showcased considerable feel to hit and was all over the barrel throughout his round with a well-sequenced swing. His max exit velocity was 92 mph and will continue to tick up as he continues to add strength. On defense, freshman middle infielder demonstrated super smooth actions with a quick first step to both sides and was 86 mph across the infield with accuracy proving he is a reliable defender on the routine play and who can also make the rangy play to both sides. Compact frame with all kinds of athleticism.”

Ethan Orlando OF / RHP / Bay Port, WI / 2027

From 3/19/25: ran a 7.22 showing off his athleticism. Has such a projectable frame with lightning quick hands. He produced a max exit velocity of 90 mph. The 6-foot-1, 176 pound athletically built frame is super projectable and our staff can envision Orlando taking big steps in the future.

Will Nikolay INF / De Pere / 2027

From 3/28/25: “continues to shine on both sides of the ball in front of our staff. He displayed his natural hitability with natural hand trigger that allows him to be so short and quick to the ball with control of the barrel. His max exit velocity off the bat was 91 mph and registered an average exit velocity of 86 mph exemplifying how often he got the barrel to and through the ball. Nikolay showed smooth actions and footwork in infield work as well. Nikolay continues to be a player who is firmly on our radar going into the spring.”

Mason Sturma INF / Waterford Union / 2027

From 3/28/25: “is a long, wiry and projectable 5-foot-9, 144 pounds two-way prospect. Sturma impressed with the bat that featured a loose, easy and well-sequenced right-handed swing that produced an impressive 92 mph max exit velocity off the bat. He was 80 mph across the infield during defensive work that demonstrated smooth actions to both sides, soft hands and feel for the middle infield. On the mound, the sophomore ran the fastball up to 81 mph with a downhill angle and mixed in a curveball and slider for strikes to go with it. Sturma has upside and our staff will continue to monitor his development going forward.”

Team 2: White

Camden Glusick OF / Sun Prairie East, WI / 2027

From 4/22/255: “Uncommitted, a follow bat in the state’s sophomore class, standing at a lean 6-foot, 165 pound frame with room to add. Glusick started in center field and hit third in the lineup, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, two RBIs and a walk. The right-handed hitter has shown repeated feel for the barrel, driving the ball to all fields across multiple looks this spring showing advanced bat-to-ball traits and feel to backspin the baseball. Defensively the outfielder has enough range and speed to play in all three spots, making plays in both gaps throughout the game.”

Alex Solberg C / New Richmond / 2027

From 5/13/25: “Uncommitted, one of the strongest right-handed hitters in the state’s sophomore class. Listed at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds with strength through the frame. Hit in the middle of the order and was the designated hitter for both games, going 3-for-7 at the plate. From the right-side, Solberg swings a powerful and strong right-handed bat with loose and strong wrists taking a flat path through the zone. Solberg is a name to follow as he continues his prep career as one of the stronger right-handed hitters in the class.”

Damen Lonstine INF / Cedarburg / 2027

From 2/26/25: “made a statement with his performance on Sunday. Lonstine ran one of the best 60’s of the day at 6.71 seconds showing considerable burst off the line and quick turnover once underway. Lonstine has explosive hands through the baseball and registered a max exit velocity of 93 mph. He likely sticks up the middle on the dirt but it remains to be seen if it will be at 2B or SS. Our staff was impressed with his actions on defense overall. Lonstine continues to be an intriguing prospect and continues to improve every time we see him.”

Team 3: Black

Lucas Weber RHP / Whitnall, WI / 2027

From 5/05/25: “Uncommitted, a rising prospect in the state, set to debut in the next rankings update. Standing at 5-foot-9, 168 pounds, Weber is a proportional athlete with room for added strength to the frame. Weber came on to record the final 1.1 innings, retiring the four batters in order, striking out two. Low effort and simple delivery with feel to repeat, landing most of his pitches in the zone. Two pitch mix, the fastball sat 82-84 T85 with life out of the hand and thrown downhill, the breaking ball was firm at 71-74 mph with two plane action that picked up a couple swing and miss. A rising sophomore with an easy and clean arm, name to know moving forward.”

Ty Bumgardner RHP / 3B / Notre Dame De La Baie, WI / 2027

From 7/23/25: “Set to represent Wisconsin at the Future Games later this month, Bumgardner would show a quality two-pitch mix during GRB North’s Sunday bracket play matchup. Showed an 82-85 mph fastball that would top out at 86 mph and was thrown alongside a 76-78 mph slider with sharp break and spin rates north of 2500 rpm. An athletic 6-foot-2, 182-pounds with levers, Bumgardner should add more velocity and polish to his present profile as he continues to add strength and body control to his present toolset on the mound.”

Hunter Buchan RHP / Muskego / 2027

From 7/3/25: “Showed well on the mound Friday afternoon for the Midwest Halos, striking out nine batters in four innings of work. Fastball jumps out of his hand, 84-86mph, T87 mph with ride, settling in at 80-84 mph. Slider plays well off of the fastball, sharp break at 64-69 mph. Projectable 5-foot-11, 155-pound frame.

Owen Rueland RHP / Appleton North / 2027

From 3/4/25: “opened some eyes with the performance he put forth in the bullpen on Saturday. On the mound Reuland drove his four-seam fastball up to 85 downhill through areas of the zone and deployed a late running two-seamer to go with it. He showed the ability to land a breaking ball with 10/4 type shape and break. The change up was the real secondary weapon from Reuland. It showed nasty late running life to arm side and was thrown with fastball intent. It was an impressive look overall on the bump. It shouldn’t be overlooked that Reuland also had a nice day working out as a position player. He produced line drive contact throughout his round with a max exit velocity of 93 mph which is a solid number for the sophomore two-way talent. The long levered projectable righty definitely has some upside and our staff will be tuned into what’s to come this spring for Reuland.”

Team 4: Royal Blue

Ashtyn Seifert RHP / Beaver Dam, WI / 2027

Quick armed 6-foot-1 right hander with a history of performing on varsity and feel to spin a quality breaking ball. Easy repeatable delivery with feel to locate a mid-80s fastball to both sides of the plate.

Alex Johnson RHP / SS / Eau Claire Memorial, WI / 2027

From 5/06/25: “Uncommitted, a rising name in the state’s sophomore class. Standing at 6-foot-1, 168 pounds with room to add to his frame. Johnson came on in relief of Jesperson and tossed the final two innings where he struck out three batters, walking one. Mostly two pitches in the look, locating both in the zone throughout this look, the fastball sat 80-82 mph with feel to locate the baseball throughout the zone. Went to a 69-71 mpg breaking ball that worked off the fastball with feel to locate in the zone.”

Tyler Flemming C / 2B / Waukesha North, WI / 2027

From 3/28/25: “C Tyler Flemming (Waukesha North, 2027) is an athletic backstop who can hit, defend and run. Flemming started his day with an impressive 7.06 seconds 60 yard dash showing quick burst and quick turnover. He then showcased a strong left handed swing making loud contact throughout his round and produced 93 mph off the bat and averaged 87 mph. On defense, Flemming’s pop time was 2.01 seconds with a quick transfer and accurate throws on the bag. He shows an advanced feel for the catching position in general and continues to be a player our staff really likes.”

Team 5: Yellow

Drew Stettbacher LHP / OF / Horace Mann, WI / 2027

From 3/28/25: “LHP Drew Stettbacher (Horace Mann, 2027) would show well in his bullpen on Sunday. The left-handed arm worked from an uptempo, rhythmic delivery while slinging it from a low 3/4s slot with quick arm that generated fastballs in the low-80s (T84). Also showed an upper-60s curveball with big lateral sweeping shape and an upper-60s-low-70s changeup with late fade and depth. Must know name in the emerging Wisconsin 2027 class. 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame.”

Hayden Konczal OF / Nicolet, WI / 2027

From 3/28/25: “OF Hayden Konczal (Nicolet, 2027) is a name to know in the 2027 class. The athletic outfielder produced some of the loudest contact among the 2027’s in attendance at 96 mph max exit velocity and drove the ball 363 feet. During outfield defense, he was 89 mph with impressive carry through the target. It was another solid look at Hayden Konczal.”

Team 6: Maroon

Eli Bauer 1B / RHP / Monona Grove, WI / 2027

From 3/19/25: “1B/RHP Eli Bauler (Monona Grove, 2027) is one of the strongest left-handed bats in the state regardless of class. Standing at a physical 6-foot-1, 215 pounds with strength throughout the frame. At the plate, the physical left-hander takes controlled and violent swings, consistently finding the barrel with impact, leading the event with a 97.9 mph max exit velocity. On the mound Bauler showed feel for a three pitch mix with a fastball up to 83 mph and two secondaries to pair off the fastball.”

Cooper Wendt SS / OF / Muskego, WI / 2027

From 3/28/25: “OF Cooper Wendt (Muskego, 2027) was a big winner on the day with his performance with the bat and on defense. Wendt is a projectable and athletic 5-foot-10, 160 pounds and started his day off with running one of the best 60 yard dash times of 6.73 seconds and jumped 27.3 inches which was one of the top vertical jumps on the day. During hitting, Wendt was hitting rockets through the middle and registered an impressive 97 mph max EV. During outfield defense, Wendt unleashed a cannon at 90 mph with accuracy and carry and exemplified another impressive tool in his toolset. Cooper Wendt is a name to know in the state.”

Cole Clarke LHP / Oshkosh West / 2027

From 6/28/25: “Is a name to follow. Striking out two through one and ⅔ innings pitched. Wiry 6-foot, 155-pound frame on the mound with room to develop and add strength. An electric fastball sitting 82-85 mph, T86 mph, paired with a slider sitting 70-72 mph.”

Team 7: Kelly Green

Mason Robertson LHP / OF / Oak Creek, WI / 2027

From 3/12/25: “showcases exceptional athleticism and projection. The lefty’s fastball topped out at 85 mph, with late life through the zone. He demonstrated good command of his sinker, which featured heavy arm-side run, along with a sharp, late-breaking slider that he controls well. His sinker-slider combination is something opposing hitters would dread to face. Robertson checks multiple boxes and remains one of the more interesting pitching prospects on the circuit for the 2027 class.”

Team 8: Pink

Wes DuChame OF/LHP / Waunakee, WI / 2026

From 5/22/25: “Uncommitted, DuCharme continues to impress for the Warriors. The leadoff hitter went 7-for-14 with two walks, a double, three RBIs, and three stolen bases. The sophomore also started on the mound against DeForest, getting the win. In 6.2 innings of work, DuCharme allowed three earned runs on five hits, three walks, and struck out three.”

Braun Wotruba SS / Pulaski, WI / 2027

From 3/19/25: “a strong 5-foot-9, 175-pound infielder that took a standout round of batting practice. At the plate, the right-handed reached 94 max exit velocity with a 90 mph average. Defensively, Wotruba reached 85 mph across the infield with a reliable feel to the defense to make the routine play with the ability to make the rangy play in his back pocket. On the mound, the right-hander was to 82 mph with the fastball while showing feel to land three pitches for strikes. Our staff is convicted in the offensive profile and lean position player at this stage. Wotruba is an interesting prospect.”

Sam Bresina LHP / Chippewa Falls / 2027

From 2/19/25: “is a wiry and long levered south paw who opened some eyes on Saturday. Bresina is listed at 6-foot, 125 pounds with tons of room to fill out and add more mass and strength. When synced up, Bresina created all kinds of whippy arm speed through the baseball from a low 3/4 slot. He was able to drive the low 80’s heater with late running action through areas of the zone and showed the ability to angle it to cross corner effectively. He deployed a two-plane tilted curveball that he was able to land and a slider that had more lateral sweep to the pitch, which he was also able to land. The lefty also showed advanced feel for a late fading change up in the zone for strikes and out of the zone for chase. Overall, it was an impressive look at the sophomore, and it certainly wouldn’t surprise anyone if you looked up in two years and saw Sam Bresina’s name near the top of the 2027 class rankings as he develops physically.”

Team 9: Red

Haaken Hovestol C / 3B / Delavan-Darien, WI / 2027

Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 50 in the 2027 class. Hovestol stands in at a lean 6-foot, 185-pound frame with some athleticism and projection. Hovestol has a stock setup at the plate and has shown an ability to drive the ball to both gaps, and just has a strong feel for the barrel and a strong overall feel for hitting.

Cayden Burtness SS / 2B / Pewaukee, WI / 2027

From 4/12/25: “Uncommitted. Trim 5-foot-7, 150-pound frame with room for added strength in the future. Batted fifth and started at second base for the Pirates. Burtness especially stood out with his defense in this look; showing advanced and highly-athletic actions up the middle both pre-game and in-game, while pairing that with a confident glove. He also showed above-average range for the position. Offensively, the right-handed hitter has a middle of the field approach and looks to keep the ball on a line. He finished the day 2-for-3 with a walk. A name to continue to follow in the state’s sophomore class.”

Cooper Haas OF / RHP / Brookfield East, WI / 2027

From 2/26/25: “quite possibly took the biggest stride forward of anyone at the event with his performance on Sunday. Haas came in and added considerable size and strength to his frame. He measured at 6-foot, 173 pounds and there is more strength and fill coming to his athletic frame. He started his day by running an impressive 6.83 seconds 60 yard dash which is a considerable improvement from last year (7.51 seconds in 2024). The junior two-way prospect then took a loud round of batting practice which produced a max exit velocity of 94 mph from a repeatable and compact hand path. From the outfield, Haas pulled down 88 mph which was near a top mark for the event. On the mound, Haas featured a 3 pitch mix with a fastball up to 82 mph, a sharp 12/6 top to bottom curveball and feel for a change up that he keeps low in the zone. Haas definitely put himself on the map and has made himself a name to know in the state.”

Team 10: Navy

Danny Flor 3B / 2B / Oconomowoc, WI / 2027

From 4/19/25: “A follow player in the state’s sophomore class, Flor, would have a solid day at the plate during Oconomowoc's Saturday matchup, going 1-for-2 with an opposite-field double, 1 RBI, one run scored, and one walk. The right-handed bat presents a wider base, utilizing a medium stride to get into a position of launch with quick hands and a fluid path through contact. Presenting a 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame, Flor is continuing to add strength and athleticism to his present profile.”

Colton Topp OF / Arrowhead, WI / 2027

From 2/26/25: “is an intriguing prospect with some upside. The 5-foot-11, 165 pound athlete ran a solid 7.05 60 yard dash and was hitting rockets throughout his round with EV’s up to 93 mph. Topp also showcased impressive athleticism and ability to get through the baseball from the outfield with a clean arm stroke with some whip. Arrow up for Topp.”

James Radabaugh INF/LHP / Waunakee / 2027

From 4/14/25: “possesses notable strength and power in his 6-foot-1, 207-pound frame. With two runners on in the bottom of the fourth, Radabagh crushed a home run to right field, extending Waunakee’s lead to 12-4. At the plate, he swings with a smooth, free-and-easy left-handed stroke and shows a strong feel for the barrel. Defensively at first base, he displays good instincts around the bag and soft hands. As just a sophomore, Radabagh has already found success—and his ceiling remains incredibly high.”

Ethan Westrate RHP/INF / Fall Creek / 2027

From 7/15/25: “boasts a strong, athletic 5-foot-10, 187-pound frame and features a polished four-pitch mix. His fastball topped at 86 mph, showing late arm-side run and carry through the zone. He pairs that with a sharp, 11/5 breaking curveball, a swing-and-miss slider, and a heavy fading changeup—all of which he commands well. Westrate works with confidence and feel, consistently filling up the strike zone. His explosive lower half and athletic movements on the mound suggest more velocity could be on the way. A high-follow arm in the 2027 class.”

Team 11: Orange

Taylor Rampetsreiter RHP / OF / Brookfield Central, WI / 2027

From 3/12/25: “possesses long levers and a projectable 6-foot-1, 172-pound frame. The righty’s fastball topped out at 88 mph and displayed sinking action. He complimented his fastball with a heavy-breaking slider that showed sweeping action, as well as a heavy-sinking changeup that mimicked his fastball. Rampetsreiter has an easy and balanced delivery that he is able to repeat consistently. It was one of the best pitching performances we saw all day. With the bat, the right-handed hitter was all over the barrel with his downhill swing and registered exit velocities in the low 90’s consistently throughout his round. He was 87 mph from the outfield and also ran a 7.19 seconds 60 yard dash and jumped 26 inches in the vertical jump (4th highest in the event) showing off his overall athleticism. Overall, it was a great day for the Brookfield Central sophomore.”

Joey Shaw LHP / OF / Muskego, WI / 2027

From 3/28/25: “looked more physical in this look since our staff viewed last. He hit with a powerful and explosive left handed swing and produced loud contact from the left side of the plate. Shaw got the exit velocity up to 94 mph and was consistently driving the ball through both gaps throughout the round. Shaw is a high upside two-way talent but did not pitch in this viewing. Our staff will be locked into his outings this spring and summer. Shaw remains as a top player in the 2027 class.”

Brady Helms 2B / SS / Hartford, WI / 2027

From 5/05/25: “Uncommitted, standing at an athletic 6-foot, 173 pounds. Hit three hole and played second base for the Orioles going 2-for-4 on the day with a double. At the plate, the right-handed hitter takes a direct path to the baseball and consistently makes contact no matter the location in the zone. Showing increasing feel to leverage the ball in the air, something that can continue to tick up with added strength.”

Derrik Beckstrand RHP / Elkhorn / 2027

From 7/23/25: “Standing at a strong 6-foot-3, 237-pounds, Derrik Beckstrand was a threat at the plate. He collected two hits with an RBI. He singled on a line drive to left field in the fifth inning followed by a hard ground ball single to left field in the sixth. He has a strong presence at the plate with a level swing and a heavy barrel. Beckstrand also put together a strong showing on the mound Thursday morning. Showcasing a loose and easy delivery down the mound, he sat 84-85 mph with his fastball that showed armside run, while throwing consistent strikes with a 67-70 mph slider. He punched out four batters over four innings of work, while scattering just one hit in the outing.”

Luke Chynoweth C / Monona Grove / 2027

From 3/19/25: “is an athletic 5-foot-11 with room to add to his frame. At the plate, Chynoweth showed hitterish feel throughout his round of batting practice and repeated feel for his smooth right-handed swing with the swing with the ability to spray it to all fields. Reaching 88 mph max exit velo with more impact coming as he adds to his frame. Also a smooth defender and fluid actions up the middle and can really handle himself behind the plate with steady actions and an accurate arm up to 74 mph with pop times at 2.06-2.15.

Team 12: Purple

Jayden King RHP / 2B / Union Grove, WI / 2027

From 3/28/25: “is an interesting sophomore with upside on the mound showcasing a super athletic delivery with a quick arm. King was up to 83 mph with his fastball, threw a curveball with 11/5 shape and break to it and deployed a change up that he showed solid feel for.”

Colton Multerer LHP / West Bend East / 2027

From 3/28/25: delivered his heater 84-86 mph with consistent carry and life through the zone. He paired the fastball with a sharp 12/6 breaker and a change up thrown with fastball intent with late fading action through the zone. It was a very intriguing look from Multerer on the mound. With the bat, the sophomore registered a solid 91.5 max exit velocity with a short and handsy swing that creates low line drive contact consistently through the middle.”
