This Friday, Team PNW played their second game as a part of the coveted 2025 Prep Baseball Future Games. The top 2027 talent from Washington and Oregon lost in a close battle with Team Midwest by a final score of 6 to 4.

Many prospects out of the PNW performed well in game two. Below is our Game Recap, including performances from some of our standout players. Keep an eye on our social media platforms for complete Future Games coverage this week.

7/25 vs. Midwest Game Recap

Top-ranked RHP Rylan Howe got the nod on the mound to start game two for Team PNW. The tall righty showed exactly why he's been a player on the rise in the past calendar year, throwing two quick frames of scoreless ball. Howe showcased an intruiging four-pitch mix, running the FB up to 91.2 MPH and mixing in a SL as his strongest secondary to go alongside a CT/SPL. The Union high school arm induced soft contact on the ground in his shorter stint.

Clackamas arm Jaxon Wetzler was a major winner from Friday's game as well, throwing two frames and displaying plenty of upside mixed with present stuff. The LHP sat 89-91 T 91.4 MPH in the first inning, relying on the heater heavily. The 6'4 prospect faced some scattered command at times as he dealt with the humidity, but also racked up 4 K's in two innings of work.

The PNW offense got off to a slow start in the early innings, but picked it up midway through the game. Bishop Blanchet outfielder Will Prinz had the first hit of the night with a hustle double. South Eugene outfielder Gino Humphrey checked in with a single immediately afterward, scoring later in the inning for the first run for Team PNW.

Tumwater outfielder Luke Overbay was the most potent bat for Team PNW all night long. After nearly leaving the yard twice in his first at bat, Overbay's hot bat was finally paid off with a towering solo home run to left in his second plate appearance.

Meanwhile, two more arms showed well on the other side of the ball. Clackamas RHP Cade King showed off a smooth, repeatable delivery with a four-pitch mix, logging a pair of strikeouts in two innings pitched. King ran the FB up to 88.1 MPH, settling in and throwing strikes after the first couple of batters.

Jesuit LHP Chase Kelly impressed mightily as the final arm of the night for Team PNW. The high pitchability lefty generated constant whiffs, going 1-2-3 with 3 K's in his first inning and notching another K in his second inning thrown. Kelly featured some sink on the FB to all quadrants of the zone at 83.4-86.3 MPH. The arm also dropped in a loopier CB in all counts, including in multiple full counts.

The PNW offense rallied late, falling just short in the final innings of gameplay. Kamiakin INF Tanner Davis and Jesuit OF Kyle Goodwin both singled and scored runs in the final frame. Ridgeview INF Diego Lopez also singled for his first hit of the event. South Eugene outfielder Gino Humphrey came up with two outs in the 8th inning and stung a ball to right, but hit it right at the RF to end the threat.

Team PNW will face Team Minnesota in their final game of the 2025 Future Games tonight at 6 PM Eastern. Stay tuned the rest of this week for all Future Games content.
