Prep Baseball Tennessee Staff

Chattanooga, TN — The Chattanooga Summer ID was held at Chattanooga State on Tuesday, July 15th that featured top talent from the 2026-2030 classes. Players went through a pro-style workout with TrackMan, Blast Motion, and VALD Performance tech, while pitchers threw in a bullpen setting and were able to get data and metrics on our TrackMan unit.

Some prospects built on past showings, while others made strong first impressions.

We continue our post-event coverage with a look at some of the top performers from the event, with more breakdowns and full scouting reports coming soon.

QUICK HITS

Crew Elrod: Elrod looks to bring impressive pop as a rising freshman for IMG Academy. He focuses on maintaining a wide base and a loose handset to maintain a powerful lower half. The catcher/first base prospect maintains exceptional bat control and raw power whilst also exhibiting solid defense behind the plate. Elrod has impressive control over his 6’1”, 236 lb. frame as he maintains an impressive 1.95 pop time.

Brandon Bardos: Bardos maintains consistency in his power with impressive exit velocity since we saw him belt two homers in the Regional final. Focused on keeping his hands inside, Bardos topped out at 105 mph exit velocity. His impressive velocities transfer to the other side of the ball where he topped out at 87 mph velo on his throws from the outfield. His skillset is topped off by impressive speed, recording a 6.9 60 yd. dash time.

Jack Douglass: The Beech rising senior impressed again on the hitting side. Douglas sits on the back leg to develop his power base and smack the ball with impressive lift. Douglas hit an absolute missile to left landing after a 378 ft. trip. His natural power is accompanied by his great bat control and his hard hit consistency.

Kelby Barnett: Class of 2028 corner infielder stands out at 6’0’’, 195 lbs. Showcasing a solid blend of strength and athleticism, Barnett recorded a 7.10 60 yard dash, 79 mph infield velocity, and posted an 88 mph max exit velocity. Has a big frame with strong swing and projectable tools. Shows off a smooth glove with the ability to get to every ball. On the mound, Barnett shows a tall posture and works into a big leg lift with drop, then drives down with repeatable actions.

Cash Branyan: The rising senior out of Cherokee Trail High School stands at 6’0’’ 180 lbs and brings an intriguing blend of athleticism and power to the field. Clocking a 7.10 60-yard dash, Branyan shows solid footspeed for a middle infielder. He flashed an 83 mph infield velocity with sure hands and ability to work to both sides of the ball. Branyan also showed off a 93 mph max exit velocity with good upper half control, working center-pull side.

Andrew Monson: Blackman High School standout had a great junior season where he pitched to a sub 2 ERA. Topping at 84 mph with his fastball, Monson showed a very tricky arm action with a lower ¾ slingshot slot. The two-way standout showed impressive metrics with a 7.19 60-yard dash while also boasting an 86 mph outfield velocity. At the plate, he posted a 95 mph max exit velocity, showing strength with hard contact to the center-pull side. The 9th ranked pitcher in the state continues to impress.

Brendan Kutz: The former Junior Future Games participant has been someone that we haven't seen much over the last year but have closely followed and have continued to hear his name through inner circles. Looks like he has put on a good bit of solid weight as the body continues to refine and mature. Carried a closed stance in the box staying middle and opposite field. Short leg lift and stride. Impressive bat control and power to all fields. Stands out amongst hitters in his class and someone that we are excited to see at Super Sophomore Games.

Cole Henderlight: Big and imposing frame in the 2030 class. Mature feel for the game and the way he moves in the box and defensively. Shows easy and fluid mechanics in the swing for easy juice that shows a lot of potential for more. Standing at 6 foot 1 and 205 pounds with a solid base in the lower half. Should continue to fill out, while refining the body as he progresses into his high school career. Showed increasing arm strength in the low 80’s. Showed advanced exit velocity for the class with a max of 92, while averaging out to 80 mph. Definitely a name to know as he has one more year of high school before making the jump to the high school circuit.

Myles Cox: A guy that we have heard a lot about over the last few months. Got a glimpse of him this spring. Shows excellent command of the baseball, while showing aptitude for manipulation of spin. Very advanced and impressive presence on the mound. On the shorter side right now, but shows that there is still a lot of projection left to be had and as he continues to mature, should grow into the body that much more. Simple and repeatable actions with calm traits. Shows late ball release with a lower ¾ arm slot. Lived mostly in the mid 80’s with really great hop to the 4-seam with 20 inches of average HZM that should eat hitters up in the zone. The slider shows tightness with feel for the release to show competitiveness in the zone. Does a great job killing speed and spin on his CH, with good tunneling and solid fade. Will be a name to circle at Future Games

Drew Massey: The rising sophomore comes in with an advanced frame at 6 foot 4 and 195 pounds in a high-waisted frame that should hold much more considerable weight. Stays smooth through his motion, utilising his size well to get down the mound with easy arm speed that should hold much more velocity in the future. Lived 80-84, while topping 85. The curveball shows great depth from a tunneled slot that gets both downward attack with horizontal movement. Showed the ability to locate over the plate and repeat consistently. The changeup still is in the development stage but shows the potential for three quality offerings. Will be a guy to follow as he gets going into his varsity high school career.
