Uncommitted Senior Spotlight: 2026 Outfielders

Cooper Trinkle
Scouting Director

The fall nears, a vital 'last' look for recruiters before signing day comes in early November. The 2026 class currently has 72 committed players per our database, with 46 of those commitments being to Division I programs. This class is deep and there still remains plenty of quality talent on the board. Our 2026 rankings are due for an update at the end of this month and to tease the list before it comes out, here are the top 10 outfielders that remain uncommitted in the order that they're set to update in. Stay tuned for similiar lists on other position groups to come...

Colt DeHart OF / RHP / Indian Creek Sr High School, IN / 2026

+ From (Spring Scout Blog) - It was good to get some at-bats on Dehart as he returns from injury and he looks comfortable against upper-80s velocities in this look. He flew out to the track backside & pull-side, while also collected a scolded RBI 2B that he flicked to his backside gap. It is a fluid operation at the dish with his power beginning to shine, and even more on the way. He showed the twitch to catch up to velocity and as he finishes his rehab and gets back to 100% full health it likely ticks further, as well. He DH'd on this night - but the arm is an above average tool that also plays into the upper-80s on the bump.

Tyler Denny OF / Mooreville , IN / 2026

+ Excellent runner who turned in a double-plus run time of a 6.35 at the Senior Future Games. Short, simple, loose-wristed right-handed stroke gets delivered with some strength at impact and easy feel to lift pullside. Coming off an All-State junior season where hit hit .460 with 11 doubles, 8 homers, and stole 36 bags. Feels like a lock to stay in CF long term, should be a late steal - young for class prospect starting to bloom into physical strength.

Brock Kintner OF / 1B / Columbus North , IN / 2026

+ From (3/18/25) - A physical-looking, 6-foot-2, 195 pounder. Solid toolset accross the board, the right-handed swing is his biggest strength. Looks the part of a next-level run-producer with a repeatable stroke & bat speed included. The swing is short with power lurking evident in the 99-plus exits he produced. Kintner also turned in a 7.07 60-yard dash to pair with an 88 mph arm from the outfield.

Jonathan Riley OF / McCutcheon High School, IN / 2026

+ From (2025 Top Prospect Games) -  Riley brought one of the heaviest barrels of the event with his strong, 6-foot, 195 pound frame producing 100+ batting practice exits with gap-to-gap power shining most. He is coming off a big junior spring and has a strong track record of hitting in his past two seasons with the Mavericks. There is some length to the barrel turn, but the bat speed he produces is noteworthy and helps to create the power that he produces. He rounded out the toolset with a solid run time (6.90 60) and above average arm strength (85 mph).

Reed Sawa OF / Center Grove, IN / 2026

+ From (2025 Top Prospect Games) - Sawa was one of the more productive hitters in-game with a pair of rocketed hits (tripled and singled) after peppering liners across the yard with a peak exit velocity of 98 mph. A 6.6 runner - Sawa's calling card has been his defensive abilities, but the bat has trended well, especially as strength has been added to the 5-foot-10, 170 pound frame. The swing is athletic with a direct path and controlled lower-half. There are shades of a strength/speed combo developing offensively with the defensive prowess establishing a safe floor.

Rykin Matthias OF / North Central, IN / 2026

+ From (Spring Scout Blog) -  Matthias continues to put together an outstanding junior campaign and came up clutch for the Panthers in this one, driving a back-side 2B to lead off the B8, before later coming around to score the game-winning run. It is a broad-shouldered, muscular, 6-foot, 200 pound frame with strong wrists evident in the left-handed swing. There is ample bat speed in the level path that is showing more and more in-game, and is likely the biggest factor in his league-leading Slug % in the MIC to this point in the spring. He is a 6.9 runner in showcase and that tool showed a bit louder in a game setting as he turned in a 4.21 H-1st on this night. There is still a tendency to get open early, especially on balls running away from the barrel, but the bat speed, left-handed bat, above average run times, and hard-nosed motor is what I value most in Rykin.

Luke Goben OF / Andrean High School, IN / 2026

+ Goben boasts an athletic, 5-foot-10, 170 pound frame that holds compact strength. Goben's best 60-time turned in is a 6.95. Providing a table-setters look in batting practice, Goben loads in a smooth, controlled, quiet fashion before delivering the barrel on a short path to spray liners from gap-to-gap. While the swing is geared more towards a contact-oriented approach, he does show some strength with exits the peak in the mid-90s.

Nate Southwell OF / Munster, IN / 2026

+ From (2/27/25) - Southwell is a good LHH follow out of the region-area. There is some physicality and present strength to the 6-foot, 185 pound frame that produced exits over 101 mph, and he repeated the operation with an average exit over 97 mph throughout his BP round. The swing starts from a taller setup, and he uses an athletic move into the baseball as his hands remain in a deep, loaded position. He turns the barrel on-plane early in the hitting zone and is able to create length through the front of the zone. His toolset continues to elevate as he turned in an 86 mph OF arm and 7.02 60-yard dash. The bat is the best tool here. Southwell posted big numbers as a sophomore at Munster and appears to be primed for another big spring.

Joshua Newton OF / University High School, IN / 2026

+ From (3/18/25) - 5-foot-10, 185 pound stocky body. Solid toolset across the board is highlighted by a 6.78 60-yard dash and 90 mph OF arm. Offensively, he uses an up-tempo, toe tap stride with a small hand climb in the load to offset forward move. Ambush tendencies, looks to get the ball in the air to pull-side with 97-plus exits. Solid rotator w present above average bat speed (73 mph). Profiles best in the corner OF w CF upside.

Gray Stockwell OF / 1B / Homestead Senior High School, IN / 2026

+ From (Spring Scout Blog) - Stockwell has shown well across a multitude of my looks thus far this spring, hitting in the middle of the 9-1 Homestead lineup and playing CF. He stands at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds, athletic and strong presently with more room for strength. He hits from a wide setup, quiet hands in the load deliver the barrel on a slightly uphill plane with above average bat speed. Stockwell has sprayed liners to all fields in my looks, the arm is a solid tool from the OF and the run tool is above average (6.99) at this time.
