This summer, the best uncommitted Class of 2027 prospects will head to LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA for the premier Prep Baseball Report Future Games. For the first time ever, the state of California will be bringing two teams: Team NorCal and Team SoCal. For the next three weeks leading up to the event we will be previewing each player that will be putting their talents on display in front of a plethora of college coaches from across the entire country.
Standing 5-foot-11, Luke Bacon is a right-handed throwing, left-handed hitting catcher and outfielder from Santiago High. The eleventh ranked catcher in all of California is also ranked as the eighty-first best player in the entire state, climbing the ranks after an impressive sophomore campaign for Santiago.

In his sophomore season, Bacon hit to the tune of a .370 batting average and a .514 OBP.
Bacon held runners at bay throughout the season, throwing out 4 runners on the year.
At the Future Games Tryout, all of Bacon’s talents were on display. Bacon ran a 7.09 second 60-yard-dash and had a max exit velocity of 94.5 MPH off the bat.
Bacon shined behind the dish with a 2.01 second pop time, which was the fastest pop time of the event.
Bacon’s ability to frequently get on base, be a threat on the basepaths, and play sound defense behind the dish is a huge asset for Team SoCal.
“We have seen Bacon at a number of Prep Baseball California events as well as during the spring with his Arlington High School team. An athletic catcher, 7.09 laser timed 60, Bacon continues to impress with his overall game that included a 74mph arm behind the plate with pop times in the 2.01-2.20 range. After spraying line drives to all fields during batting practice, he continued to show off the hit tool during the game portion that resulted in a three-for-three day. He had a single to right-center-field, a single to left field, and finished with a double to left-center-field showing feel for the barrel that left our staff impressed with the hit tool ability.” - California Scouting Staff
