This summer, the best uncommitted Class of 2027 prospects will head to LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA for the premier Prep Baseball Report Future Games. For the first time ever, the state of California will be bringing two teams: Team NorCal and Team SoCal. For the next three weeks leading up to the event we will be previewing each player that will be putting their talents on display in front of a plethora of college coaches from across the entire country.

Kemuel Zhang is a right-handed pitcher from Canyon High. Zhang, who stands 5-foot-10, pitched to the tune of a 1.25 ERA this season, fanning 61 batters across 61.2 innings.

One of Zhang’s best appearances of the season came against Crean Lutheran on April 22nd. Zhang had a strong five shutout innings, striking out eight batters and only allowing three total hits.

At the Future Games Tryout in Fullerton, Zhang was able to put all of his talents on display.

Zhang has a dynamic four-pitch mix, featuring a fastball, curveball, slider, and a change-up.

The heater reaches a max velocity of 86 MPH, with an average spin rate of 2279 RPM.

Zhang pairs the fastball best with his slider, which registers an average 2406 RPM.

In the batter’s box, Zhang showed off his impressive hitting skills, generating a max exit velocity of 86.6 MPH.

The righty has also showed potential defensively, showcasing a natural feel for the shortstop position with smooth footwork and a strong arm.

Zhang's swing and miss ability, as well as his potential to grow as a hitter, makes him an exciting talent to watch for TeamSoCal at LakePoint.
