This summer, the best uncommitted Class of 2027 prospects will head to LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA for the premier Prep Baseball Report Future Games. For the first time ever, the state of California will be bringing two teams: Team NorCal and Team SoCal. For the next three weeks leading up to the event we will be previewing each player that will be putting their talents on display in front of a plethora of college coaches from across the entire country.
Standing 6-foot-4, William Walbridge is a right-handed throwing, left-handed hitting 1B/3B from Junipero Serra High School. The third ranked first baseman in all of California is also ranked as the sixty-seventh best player in the country.
In his sophomore season, Walbridge hit to the tune of a .370 OBP and 12 RBIs. Walbridge also showed off his power throughout the season, tallying eight extra base hits, one of them coming via the long ball.
In the field, Walbridge flashed the glove with a .977 fielding percentage on 173 total chances.
At the Sacramento Summer ID event, Walbridge showed off his smooth and powerful lefty swing. Walbridge had the seventh best max exit velocity (98.9 MPH) and the fourth farthest batted ball (368 FT).
Walbridge's ability to hit for power and play a great first base makes him a fun player to watch when he steps on the field at LakePoint.
“Walbridge is another power lefty bat that was lighting up the trackman numbers from the Sacramento Summer ID, he stands at 6 '4” 249.1 lbs, displaying his grip strength with his right hand of 122 and 119 with his left. Walbridge stands out physically of the group, his 60 yard dash came in at 8.07 with a peak run speed of 16.5 mph. Walbridge has a lot of juice to the poolside, there were times in BP where he would roll over some, but when he flattened everything out, he managed to lace balls to the opposite gap. Walbridge hits the ball hard and when he figures out how to get more base hits, like Busalacchi, he is going to be a guy doing damage. Walbridge had an average EV of 92.4 mph. Walbridge is an improving athlete and will continue to work on getting the power to the gaps. Walbridge has another big summer ahead of him as he will play for NorCal U and travel the country on the summer circuit. There’s a ton of potential when you look at Walbridge, I think with some added time and maturity he is going to be able to put it all together. I know he's making positive strides off the field, it will be a fun one to follow.” - Hank LoForte, Associate Director NorCal
