Southeast Select: Scout Blog
July 17, 2025
Emerson, GA: From uncommoitted 2026 talent to up and coming prospects in the 2028 and 2029 classes, the Southeast Select delivered an action packed week of baseball.
Jackson Lee, 3B, 2028, Landmark Christian
Back in the playoffs last spring, Lee looked the part as a freshman for Landmark Christian in the heart of the order as he would go toe to toe with a mid 90’s arm. Fast forward a couple months later and Lee has carried it into the summer circuit with multiple barrels from both sides of the plate across Southeast Select. Wiry and athletic at 5-foot-10, 150-pounds there is plenty more to project upon for the switch-hitter. Lee shows great balance in the stride with fluid hands with some whip in the barrel present and accuracy alike. Innate pitch recognition stands out with an advanced understanding of the zone in a mature all-fields approach to match. Lee also holds positional flexibility and offers the ability to play a multitude of different positions at a high-level. The dual-sport athlete and QB1 looked the part for Canes Southeast this week across 5 + different positions throughout the infield and outfield. The incoming sophomore looks poised for a breakout campaign in the spring as he has a chance to be a name to know in the class nationally in due time.
Micah Hardenbrook, RHP, 2028, West Forsyth
The incoming sophomore would provide an impressive first look out of the bullpen in relief for Georgia Jackets. As he struck out 6 with 1 H across 2.2 IP of no-run ball. Standing a wiry, athletic 6-foot-0, 150-pounds, Hardenbrook shows repeatability in the delivery as he gets down the mound with ease and good feel for his two-pitch mix. Fastball sat 80-81 (T82 MPH) and Hardenbrook showed advanced feel for his slider, which tunneled well off the fastball at 73-74 with late-depth for swing-and-miss. There’s plenty more to project upon throughout the frame and profile with a certain velo jump looming.
Ethan Jones, RHP, 2028, Maynard Jackson
Jones would toe the rubber to open bracket play for “Ninth Inning” and delivered with a dominant start. As he would go on to strike out seven across 5.0 IP in a win to advance to the semi-finals. Lean and athletic, Jones deploys a loose and easy operation on the bump with repeatability and present arm speed. Fastball lived 85-87 (T88) with arm-side run and feel to land to either half of the plate. Jones showed advanced feel of his slider at 68-70 with sharp movement and some feel to manipulate for swing-and-miss. Changeup was worked in occasionally with the ability to land R/R with tumble at 76. Velocity continues to tick up for Jones as there is plenty of projection remaining throughout the frame/profile. The incoming sophomore has shown well on the mound this summer and appears ready for a breakout season with the Jaguars come next spring.
Santiago Fuenmayor, C, 2028, Duluth
The Duluth backstop seemingly always produces at Lakepoint as more of the same would continue across Southeast Select. The ability to hit the ball to all-fields with authority really stands out, backed by present bat speed with explosive hands in-zone and impact in the barrel. Standing a physical 6-foot-2, 195-pounds, Fuenmayor possesses immense raw strength that consistently shows up in-game. Body control stands out with advanced use of his lower half as he stays well-balanced and leveraged with present accuracy in the barrel throughout the zone. Fuenmayor, an advanced defender, shows athleticism in the crouch with strong blocking and receiving ability as well as present arm strength. High-floor intangibles make up the profile with plenty of projection remaining.
Isaac Dye, RHP/OF, 2026, Lenoir City HS(TN)
Uncommitted. Dye would put together a strong outing Saturday in his team's 6-2 pool play win. Came out of the gate pounding the strike zone with his fastball and kept hitters off balance with his off speed and did a good job of mixing up his pitches. Showcased a three pitch arsenal that consisted of a fastball that lived in the 84-87 range that was a high spin pitch that was 2250-2450RPM with some arm side run. Also showcased a tight slider that was 76-79 and flashed a changeup at 81-82. Was able to generate swing and miss on his fastball and slider and soft contact throughout. Only gave up 2ER on 4H across 4.2 innings pitched and struck out 7 and only walked one.
JR Zeimet, C/3B/RHP, 2026, Gordon Lee HS
Uncommitted. Put together a strong all around tournament this week at Southeast Select. In his first look of the tournament he would go 3-3 with 3 RBIs. In his first AB he would lace a single into center field for a single, in his next AB he would scorch another ball this time to the RCF fence for a 3 run RBI double at 98EV, and then to cap off his day he would hit a single through the 5-6 hole. Would show a well synced up and leveraged swing, would also show innate fell for the barrel with bat to ball skills to match. Later in the tournament he would add a no-doubt home run that went 383 feet and 98 EV. Will represent Georgia in the Senior Futures Games later in the month.
Cooper Leroy, RHP/1B, 2028, Mesquite HS(AZ)
In the first round of bracket play, Leroy would have an electric and dominant performance. He came pounding the zone with both his fastball and his slider. He would also flash a changeup at times. Would generate a lot of swing and miss on his fastball that sat in the 89-92 range and had a top bolt of 93 that had good arm side run and life. He also did a good job of keeping hitters off balance with his slider and also got swing and miss with this pitch that sat in the 70-73 range that was tight and sharp with slice. Throughout his start he would generate soft contact through out. Was a fluid mover down the mound with good extension. Will be a big name to follow as he continues to get better and add strength to his lean and athletic 6’3” 180 pound frame. Stat line: 5IP, 4H, 1ER, 1BB, 6K.
