Danny Doyle / Cedar Rapids Kennedy, IA / 2027

Doyle has made defensive plays that few high school shortstops in Iowa can match. He’s sure-handed at short with arm strength that will continue to develop as he adds physicality. Offensively, he’s under control in the box with a simple, repeatable swing. While there’s some swing-and-miss, he’s posted more walks than strikeouts this season. He’s also beginning to show gap-to-gap power with the ability to drive the ball through the middle of the field.

Henry Schuster SS / RHP / George Washington High School, IA / 2026

Schuster is flashing more power this season and looks to have made meaningful strides in his development despite a statistical dip. He has athletic actions in the box and has launched a pair of home runs this year while maintaining strong contact rates—drawing more walks than strikeouts (only 3 Ks). Defensively at shortstop, he shows the athleticism needed for the position but will need to clean up the errors as he continues to mature.

Caleb Paulson C / 2B / Hempstead, IA / 2026

Paulson has a quiet, efficient swing and consistently works the middle of the field. As he adds strength, expect the ball to carry deeper into the gaps and boost his slugging numbers. Behind the plate, he manages the game well and possesses all three core tools of a catcher at an above-average level. Improving his arm strength and quickening his transfer will help lower his pop time to second.

Ty Donels 2B / 3B / Cedar Rapids Kennedy, IA / 2026

Donels continues to show why he's the top-ranked player at his position in the state. Offensively, he’s a controlled mover in the box, hitting for both average and emerging power. As he adds strength, more impact is likely to follow. Defensively, he features sound mechanics and clean footwork. Increased physical strength should also translate to improved arm strength across the diamond.

Tatem Telfer LHP / 1B / Mid-Prairie High School, IA / 2025

The Arkansas State commit was sharp in a relief outing this week. Telfer has a strong, durable build and a workhorse presence on the mound. He features a heavy arm wrap and hook in the back that can affect repeatability, but his stuff plays. The fastball sat 89–90 mph over two innings with life up in the zone. The breaking ball flashed above-average depth and bite when located in the zone.

Tate Moulton RHP / OF / Grand View Christian, IA / 2026

Moulton has a compact, athletic frame with present strength. He covers ground well in the outfield with quality reads and natural instincts. At the plate, he swings with intent, showing bat speed and a bit of controlled violence. He collected two hard-hit knocks in his game, including a line-drive double to the left-field fence and a sharp single up the middle.

Tate Perrin OF / SS / Dallas Center-Grimes, IA / 2025

Perrin was a standout at the plate for DCG against CR Prairie on Saturday. The 2025 grad and Iowa Central CC commit went off for a single, double, and home run, driving in three runs and scoring twice. He features an athletic frame with present strength, and his simple, line-drive swing allows him to consistently drive the ball into the gaps.

Brady Dill / Cedar Rapids Kennedy, IA / 2026

A steady, reliable presence behind the plate. Dill is a solid defender with strong receiving and blocking skills. His arm strength is more than adequate for the next level, and he continues to develop physically. At the plate, he shows a patient approach but will jump on fastballs early in the count. He stays balanced on off-speed pitches down in the zone. On June 23, Dill recorded three hard-hit singles up the middle, helping Kennedy knock off then-#1 ranked Prairie.

Brandon Bea OF / RHP / Davenport North , IA / 2026

An instinctive outfielder who tracks the ball well and covers ground in the gaps. Bea possesses an above-average arm and plays with confidence. At the plate, he features a high leg kick but maintains balance and a steady head through contact. There's pop in the bat and untapped potential as he continues to develop.

Carson Grier 1B / 3B / Williamsburg , IA / 2026

A physically strong corner infielder with raw power and projection. Grier brings juice at the plate, though there is some swing-and-miss in his game. His simple load gives him a chance to make consistent contact. Defensively, he’s solid at first base and offers plenty of upside with continued reps and refinement.

Elijah Scott / Marion High School, IA / 2027

A composed and efficient catcher who does a great job managing the game. Scott features a strong arm and sound mechanics behind the plate. Offensively, he uses quiet hands and a small leg lift for timing. He lands softly on his front foot, which allows him to adjust to off-speed pitches. He consistently puts the ball in play and rarely strikes out.

Xavier Perez C / 3B / Center Point Urbana, IA / 2027

A disciplined hitter with a direct swing that doesn’t try to force power on every pitch. He hunts specific spots early in counts, shows patience deep into at-bats, and grinds effectively with two strikes. At last check, he had nearly as many walks as hits and very few strikeouts. Plays hard and with a competitive edge both at the plate and behind it. Defensively, his receiving, blocking, and throwing are all above average, and he commands the game well from behind the plate.

Charlie Sarsfield OF / SS / Linn-Mar, IA / 2027

An athletic, versatile defender with the range and arm strength to move between shortstop and the outfield. His quick, accurate throws play well across the diamond. At the plate, he features a repeatable swing and can drive the ball to all fields. Plays hard every pitch and is always looking to take the next base or make the next play. One of the more exciting and dynamic players to watch in Eastern Iowa.

Cal Jepsen SS / 2B / Sioux City East, IA / 2026

A gamer through and through. His athleticism and arm strength allow him to play multiple positions with ease, making tough plays look routine and never rushing throws. At the plate, he has noticeable juice in the bat and does damage when he finds himself in favorable counts. Displays advanced plate discipline and can still be a threat when hitting behind in the count.

Jacob Pierro RHP / SS / Wahlert Catholic High School, IA / 2028

Works quickly with a fastball that jumps out of his hand and off-speed offerings that he commands well. He can land the breaking ball early in counts or bury it late to keep hitters from sitting on the fastball. Against Liberty on June 16, he worked 83–87 mph, topping out at 88 mph, with a slider in the 69–72 range. The quick arm action suggests more velocity to come as he adds strength.

Collin McClintock OF / RHP / Cedar Rapids Prairie, IA / 2026

An advanced approach at the plate allows him to utilize the whole field, no longer relying exclusively on the pull side. Hitting in the heart of a deep Prairie lineup, he leads the state with 35 RBI. Shows excellent plate discipline with 19 walks to just 6 strikeouts, making him a tough out every trip to the plate. In the outfield, he tracks the ball well, and his above-average arm delivers accurate throws to every base.
