Utah Top Prospect Games: Statistical Analysis
July 16, 2025
On Monday and Tuesday, July 14th/15th, the Prep Baseball Utah staff hosted it's biggest event of the year with the Top Prospect Games held at BYU - Miller Park. With over 100 prospects on hand, there was no shortage of uncommitted talent that stood out to our staff, and to the multiple colleges coaches in attendance.
The two-day event was action-packed. Day 1 featured a full workout for all position players, including batting practice tracked by TrackMan and BLAST, a 60-yard dash recorded by VALD Performance, and defensive evaluations with positional velocities. Day 2 was dedicated to live gameplay, with six teams competing across three games—each filled with standout performances. Pitchers had their data captured by TrackMan, providing an in-depth look at how their stuff plays in a live setting.
This event served as a key identifier for future invite-only events such as the Super Sophomore Games, West Coast Games, and more.
Over the next few days, we’ll be rolling out post-event coverage spotlighting top performers, stat leaders, and more. Stay tuned to our social channels for video highlights, leaderboards, and continued content from the event.
Today, we kick things off with a deep dive into the data collected, breaking down the numbers in this Statistical Analysis feature. Leaderboards will include results from TrackMan Hitting and Pitching, VALD Performance, and positional metrics.
