This summer, the best uncommitted Class of 2027 prospects will head to LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA for the premier Prep Baseball Report Future Games. For the first time ever, the state of California will be bringing two teams: Team NorCal and Team SoCal. For the next three weeks leading up to the event we will be previewing each player that will be putting their talents on display in front of a plethora of college coaches from across the entire country.
Carson Richter is a 6-foot-5 OF from Newbury Park High School. Richter, who also has shown some potential on the mound, is ranked as the seventeenth best outfielder in all of California, and ranked as the sixtieth best player overall.
In his sophomore season for Newbury Park, Richter hit .259, tallying 21 hits with an OPS of .748.
Defensively, Richter played an extremely sound outfield, earning a .975 fielding percentage and recording two assists.
One of his best performances came against Agoura on April 3rd. In the game, Richter went 2-4 with 3 RBIs and a double.
At the Future Games Tryout in Los Angeles, Richter showed why he is one of the best outfield prospects in the state, earning the rank of fourth best overall prospect on the day.
Richter’s size, speed, and bat to ball skills make him a must watch prospect when he touches down with Team SoCal at LakePoint.
“When you see Richter, the profile screams athlete. Richter showcased just that, starting with an event topping 60-yard dash at 6.64 seconds. His top speed was recorded at 21.5 mph, 0.8 mph faster than the next person. While speed is a big part of his game, the physicality in the frame is also what catches the eye. At 6-foot-5, Richter weighs in at a filled-out 215.2 lbs with plenty of strength throughout the build. He showed off 84 mph bat speed and generated exit velocities in excess of 100 mph, with the top being 103.9 mph. He also threw 93 mph from the outfield. Richter hopped in game and immediately made an impact, smashing a double down the line in LF for an easy double. The raw tools and overall athleticism, paired with performance in game, make Richter a name to follow this summer.”- Matthew Monk, Manager, Operations and Content
