This summer, the best uncommitted Class of 2027 prospects will head to LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA for the premier Prep Baseball Report Future Games. For the first time ever, the state of California will be bringing two teams: Team NorCal and Team SoCal. For the next three weeks leading up to the event we will be previewing each player that will be putting their talents on display in front of a plethora of college coaches from across the entire country.

Standing 6-foot-3, Riley Jackson is a right-handed throwing, left-handed hitting SS/3B from Half Moon Bay High. The tenth ranked shortstop in all of California is also ranked as the sixty-second best shortstop in the country, climbing the ranks after an impressive sophomore campaign for Half Moon Bay.

In his sophomore season, Jackson hit to the tune of a .354 average and a 1.166 OPS. Jackson also showed off his power throughout the season, tallying eleven extra base hits, three of which were home runs.

In the field, Jackson flashed the glove with a .851 fielding percentage on 47 total chances.

Jackson also impressed on the base paths, swiping ten bags on the year.

At the Future Games Tryout, all of Jackson’s talents were on display. Jackson ran a 7.05 second 60-yard-dash, had a max exit velocity of 99 MPH off the bat, and played a clean infield.

Jackon’s well rounded set of tools makes him a must watch player when he takes the field in LakePoint.

The infielder's ability to hit for power, be a threat on the bases, and play sound defense is a huge asset to Team SoCal.

“Jackson took over a full time spot in the lineup at Half Moon Bay during his Fr. campaign and during his Soph. showed his upward movement by posting a .354 average, 1.166 OPS over the course of 99 plate appearances. Jackson impressively walked 26 times while striking out only six times. The LH hitter showed off flashes off his power by putting up seven doubles, one triple and blasting three homers while scoring 21 runs with 13 RBIs. Jackson also stole 10 bases and showed the defensive acumen to stay at the SS position long term.” - California Scouting Staff
