Seattle Summer Review - Quick Hits
August 13, 2025
On Tuesday August 12th, Prep Baseball Washington hosted the Seattle Summer Review at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue, Washington. Prep Baseball scouts evaluated high school athletes in the 2026-2030 graduating classes, with several strong showings throughout the event.
Prep Baseball events serve as an important tool for both Prep Baseball scouts and college recruiters, who will subsequently create lists of prospects to follow as they plan their scouting coverage throughout the year. We often tend to see prospects' best showings at Summer events, as players are fresh off playing for their respective high schools and are in the routine that consistently playing in-game offers. Standout performances can lend invites to some of the year's top events, including the Pacific Northwest State Games, the West Coast Super Sophomore Games, and Pacific Northwest Preseason All-State.
Today, we unveil our Quick Hits, detailing scouting notes on standout prospects from our event. Players are listed alphabetically by last name. For complete post-event content, click here.
Seattle Summer Review
Quick Hits
'26 RHP Jay Baxter (Eastside Catholic)
Long-levered 6'2 frame generates extension well on the mound and impressed in his bullpen showing. FB sat 86-88 T88.4 MPH from a clean, repeatable delivery. Longer arm action with high-slot release, generates some ride on the FB at times. CH played well to the bottom of the zone at 78-81 MPH, paired with a CB at 70-73 MPH that landed in the zone consistently. Baxter impressed in a high school look this spring with similar numbers and should be an arm whose stuff plays at the next level.
'28 1B Ben Byeman (Eastlake)
Another player that impressed in high school action earlier this year, Byeman put together one of the more complete showings of any '28 player seen at a Prep Baseball showcase. The bat currently leads the way and produced loud BP rounds, peaking with a 102.1 MPH exit velocity and a 383 foot batted ball distance. The lefty stays in a more narrow stance with a firm front side at contact, creating some loft with a tighter turn and a high two-hand finish. Byeman left the yard to the pull side multiple times with present power in his 6'0, 195 pound frame. The lefty glove also showed some skill defensively at 1B with a 6.88 60-yard dash time suggesting a move to the outfield could be possible in the future.

'27 OF Austin Catini (Mount Si)
Catini showed great strides yesterday, improving his metrics virtually across the board since his previous showcase last fall. Peaked with a 100.7 MPH exit velocity and averaged 92 MPH, shooting the gaps with a peak batted ball distance of 378 feet. Showcased a balanced, simplified approach at the plate while carrying a heavier barrel through the zone. 7.04 runner in the 60 with shorter strides in the outfield and throws up to 80 MPH. Intriguing follow.
'28 INF/RHP Liam Epperson (Rogers)
Young prospect flashed at times, with tools and athleticism to build on. Medium framed middle INF type with strength to fill. Some gap power when on time, peaking with a 91 MPH exit velocity and a peak batted ball distance of 350 feet. 7.13 runner in the 60-yard dash. Smoother defensive actions with 81 MPH throws across the diamond should lead to ability to stick anywhere on the dirt at the high school level. Also ran his FB up to 80 MPH on the mound, showcasing a four pitch mix overall.
'27 C/OF Micah Houston (Curtis)
Houston put together one of the best BP showings seen all year, oozing athleticism and twitch from his 6'0, 190 pound frame. Ball jumped off the bat with strength from the ground up from the right side. Bat speed present with a sudden fire and acceleration through contact. Peaked with a 104.6 MPH exit velocity, averaging 97.2 MPH. Hit several pitches over the wall in a stadium that is tough to leave for right-handed hitters, peaking with a 391 foot batted ball distance. 6.91 runner in the 60 and a 2.06 second pop time from behind the plate as well. Name to know in the '27 recruiting period.

'27 OF Drew Maguire (Roosevelt)
Physical 6'5 prospect stood out with his ability to move well for his size and his power from the right side of the plate. Works from the ground up with a flatter barrel path, staying in the zone and on plane well to punish balls to the pull side and middle of the field. Peaked with a 101.1 MPH exit velocity, averaging 89.4 MPH. Developing arm strength in the outfield, but covers ground easily with long strides. 6.84 60-yard dash time was the best at the event. Exciting collection of tools.
'26 OF/RHP Jacob Nold (Tahoma)
Athletic 5'11 prospect generates plus bat and hand speed at the plate, resulting in hard contact when on the barrel. Drove balls up to 96.7 MPH with a best batted ball distance of 373 feet. Works from a slightly open stance and lands on a firm front side to generate loft from the right side. 6.87 60-yard dash time and throws up to 82 MPH from the outfield as well. On the mound, FB sat 80-82 MPH with a CH/SL offspeed combination. The SL flashed as the strongest secondary pitch, with a slower, sweeping action and over 2400 RPM of spin on average.
'27 OF Ben Schwarz (Seattle Prep)
Interesting two way potential shown with advancements in his overall skillset shown since previous look this winter. Sinks deep into his lower half at the plate with direct barrel path, resulting in exit velocities up to 92.3 MPH. Athletic gait in the OF with throws up to an event-best 84 MPH. 7.08 second runner in the 60. FB sat 80-83 MPH on the mound from the right side from a compact, high 3/4 release. Some natural sink generated on the FB. CH/CB offspeed duo both sat in the mid-70's. Solid overall showing.
'28 INF/RHP Brayden Seiber (Kennedy Catholic)
The 6'1, 180 pound prospect saw quite a bit of varsity action for a great program in his freshman spring, looking the part of a name to know in the '28 class. Starts in a balanced setup from the right side, with an upright finish and strength through contact producing hard barrels. Peaked with a 95.7 MPH exit velocity and a max batted ball distance of 350 feet. 7.21 second runner in the 60 is probably more suited for a corner INF position, showcasing throws up to 77 MPH from third base at the event. On the mound, hides the ball well with some deception in a rhythmic delivery, sitting 80-82 T82.8 MPH. Firm CH was at its best when located to the arm side, with a lower-spin CB at the bottom of the zone mixed in as well. Underclassman to watch.
'26 INF Gordon Williamson (Hazen)
Stocky 6'3, 216 pound frame. Punished baseballs at the plate to highlight his showcase yesterday, peaking with a 103.2 MPH exit velocity and averaging 91.3 MPH. Bat enters and exits the zone quickly with loft and a firm front side at contact, using his raw strength to generate power. 7.34 runner made the routine play defensively with throws up to 78 MPH from the infield. Impact power tool.
