Southern Illinois Summer ID: Pitching Analysis

On Wednesday, July 9th, the Prep Baseball Illinois staff traveled to the John A. Logan in Carterville, Illinois for the Southern Illinois Summer ID. This open event was host to over 20 players, mostly from the southern region of the state, and it consistently gives our staff a strong look at the talent the area has to offer.

Today, we’re taking a look at all of the pitchers from the event with a top-3 ranking from the event.

TOP PITCHING PROSPECTS

1. Ian Crabb, Harrisburg (IL), 2027
Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 5-11, 165-pounds.
Delivery: Simple, easy delivery, high leg lift with tuck, tall/fall.
Arm Action: RH. Long, clean arm action, 3/4 slot.
FB: T85, 82-84 mph. Straight actions, keeps up. T2388, 2300 average rpm.
CB: 74-75 mph. 11/5 shape, sharp, late bite. T2388, 2350 average rpm.
CH: 75-76 mph. Plays low, slight sink. T1862, 1772 average rpm.
