Team Select finished things up yesterday against a strong Southeast club, falling by the score of 7-3. 

We struck first in the bottom of the first inning, as C/1B Xander D’Onofrio (NY, Briarcliff, 2027) singled to score C/1B Bryson McNew (WV, Preston, 2027) who walked earlier. 

The final two runs would score off the bat of OF/INF JJ Mancuso (PA, North Allegheny, 2027), who shot a ball down the right field line to plate C/OF Matthew Bell (MO, Valley Park, 2027) and OF Omar Avalos (IL, Father McGivney, 2027) who both walked. 

RHP Connor Murray (PA, Pennridge, 2027) got the starting nod and earned Pitcher of the Game honors after firing two shutout innings with no hits allowed, one strikeout and two walks. 

RHP Grant Brown (MO, Jackson, 2027) followed and showed a fastball in the 85-86 mph range, paired with a quality changeup he could throw for strikes. 

RHP Austin Winge (IL, Lockport, 2027) was next up and struck out three over his two innings of work, showing a fastball up to 89 mph paired with an 11/5 curveball he could land in the zone.

Following Winge was big left-hander Quinn Rooney (IL, Benet, 2027), who stands in at an imposing 6-foot-5 pounds. He worked his fastball up to 88 mph multiple times, also showing a shorter mid-70s slider.

The final arm to go was RHP Rowan Walker (PA, State College Area, 2027), and he threw it well with no hits or runs over his inning of work.
