Chicagoland Summer ID: Positional Analysis

On Tuesday, June 10th, the Prep Baseball Illinois staff kicked off the summer circuit with the Chicagoland Summer ID at Triton Junior College in River Grove, IL. This open event hosted around 50 kids from around the state, allowing our staff to get an up-close and personal look at them before the summer really started to heat up.

Today, we are taking a look at the top overall position player prospects from the entire day, found below, along with scouting reports from every single position player that was in attendance.

A couple physical right-handed hitters that had loud rounds of BP are outfielders Landon Booth (Loyola, 2027) and Joseph Mueller (Barrington, 2027) - with Booth registering his peak EV at 100 mph, and Mueller at 95 mph.

TOP POSITIONAL PROSPECTS

1. Connor Krumrei, Oak Park-River Forest (IL), 2027
Positional Profile: OF
Body: 6-0, 215 pounds.
Hit: RHH. Balanced, loud, short stride, works quick. Uphill path, looks to elevate the ball, hard contact to all fields, easy elevated contact to both gaps, whip in the barrel. 77 mph bat speed with 19g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 105 mph max exit velocity (96.3 avg.); 418-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 79.00 mph. Loose, high 3/4 arm slot.
Defense: Fields the ball off front foot, attacks the baseball, short gather-and-throw.
Athletic Testing: 6.99 runner in the 60-yard dash; 24.30-inch max vertical jump.
