Top Prospect Games Dallas: Position Player Analysis

On Tuesday, July 8th, the PB Texas staff traveled to Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, TX, to host the Top Prospect Games: Dallas, an invite-only event for the class of 2026-2028.
More than 20 players made their way to DBU and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.
We've already posted a Statistical Analysis from the event, highlighting more of the traditional statistical categories, as well as a Takeaways, highlighting some of the events top performers, while also posting Data Dives for both Pitchers and Position Players.
Today, we take a look at the scouting reports on every position player in attendance as well as rank the top 8 from the event.
TOP POSITION PLAYERS
1. Cole Muir, Walnut Grove (TX), 2026
Positional Profile: SS/3B RHH/INF with good build to add strength in future. Avg run tool now, chance can be plus in future with speed work and adding strength. Solid defender on the dirt with versatility present. Upside to bat/power combo, shows ability to impact baseball now, can firm both contact consistency and impact with adjustments. Solid baseball player developing.
Body: 6-2, 187 pounds. Good build/frame. Tall. Width to shoulders and back. Strength present. Good physical projections.
Hit: RHH. Upright stance, lands in good position to hit after stride. Rotational back foot, work to drive back foot onto ball of foot, driving lower 1/2 into firm front side. Body laid back at contact, working against lower 1/2. Work to develop more upright posture along with driving lower 1/2 into firm front. High hands with barrel tip over top of head towards 2nd base creating length to swing. Work to get barrel more behind head allowing for more direct path to baseball. Knob end is flashlight, flashlight should have some direction to catcher, presently flashlight is above catcher and to side of umpire. Work to find comfortable spot for barrel launch that allows for more direct path. Swing works in zone, just takes time to get there. 65.8 mph bat speed with 6g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 98 mph max exit velocity (89.4 avg.); 358-foot max batted distance. Just scratching surface of potential with bat/power combo. Opportunities for adjustments present with both hit approach and swing. Shows hard contact now, excited to see how things improve with changes.
Arm: RH. INF - 83 mph. Arm works well with carry to throws. Accurate. Avg raw arm strength now, recommend long toss program to continue to develop arm speed and raw arm strength.
Defense: Nice actions. Feet work well getting to baseball, plays thru baseball when fielding. Hands…in fielding process hand/glove go high with flip present. Work to keep glove down at least below waist. Palm of glove should be facing baseball when starting process to field. Does a solid of fielding ball now, can improve. Hard hit ball, chance hands are late with present operation.
Athletic Testing: 7.04 runner in the 60-yard dash; 24.90-inch max vertical jump. Good runner. Quick strides. Arm swing action is nice. Creates above avg speed. Work to keep head still while remaining slightly forward to create a good forward lean.
