On Thursday, August 7th, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the Bakersfield Summer ID at North High School in Bakersfield, Cal. This was an open event for high school classes (2026-2029), and gave our staff an ample look at the area's top prospects.
24 players made their way to Bakersfield Summer ID and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball California staff.
Today, we will be looking at the scouting reports of the top pitcherss from the bullpen portion of the event, found below.

Positional Profile: RHP/C solid present profile across the board with upside
Body: 6-0, 164-pounds. Athletic build with wiry strength
Delivery: Athletic tempo, high knee lift, slight lean back up upper body posture at balance point, smooth forward move down the mound, stays taller with posture, hips rotate well, can improve front leg block
Arm Action: RH. full arm path with depth to knee out of glove, smooth stroke with present quickness, loose through delivery, minimal recoil from a 3/4 release point
FB: T80, 79-80 mph. Flashes riding potential with solid present spin, room to add T2294, 2243 average rpm.
CB: 66-69 mph. shows two-plane shape with flashes of tighter spin T2301, 2119 average rpm.
SL: 69-69 mph. softer spin with solid present shape T2268, 2206 average rpm.
CH: 73-74 mph. feel to kill spin on offering, fades to arm side T1753, 1670 average rpm.
Madden Ellis, Centennial High (CA), 2028
Positional Profile: OF/RHP Foundation of two-way profile with ability to develop as he matures
Body: 6-0, 141-pounds. Lean, wiry frame with room to fill
Delivery: Smooth tempo, medium knee lift, slight lean back at balance point, sits into back hip before leading down the mound to foot strike, hips rotate effectively, can improve front leg block, lower effort operation
Arm Action: RH. Smooth arm stroke with depth downward and stays behind his body effectively with hand, some looseness to operation, minimal recoil, H 3/34 slot
FB: T68, 65-67 mph. Straighter shape with ride, can improve velocity/spin T1986, 1781 average rpm.
CB: 59-59 mph. Vertical shape with consistency, shows potential if he can add power T1802, 1729 average rpm.
CH: 62-63 mph. Straighter shape tunnels off FB, shows potential T1670, 1561 average rpm.
Ayden Francisco, Frontier High (CA), 2028
Positional Profile: 1B/LHP Power profile LH hitter with 1B def. and interesting potential as LHP
Body: 6-0, 224-pounds. Bigger body with emerging strength in lower 1/2
Delivery: Controlled operation with medium height knee lift, hands sync with knee, stays stacked over back leg at balance point, moves down the mound with taller posture, solid block of front leg, hips rotate around front leg effectively
Arm Action: LH. Medium length arm path, stays behind body with hand, loose arm with some quickness. 3/4 slot with minimal recoil
FB: T83, 79-82 mph. Straighter shaped FB with riding profile that flashes quality spin and present velo T2327, 2220 average rpm.
SL: 68-69 mph. Sweeperish shape that has strong spin traits and upside potential T2509, 2422 average rpm.
CH: 73-75 mph. Firm CHG that he will need to kill spin on to separate from FB T2071, 2042 average rpm.
Aden Manning, Liberty (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: OF/LHP Athletic two-way profile who shows real potential on each side of the game
Body: 5-10, 167-pounds. Athletically built with wiry present strength, room to fill
Delivery: Controlled tempo with medium knee lift, hands stay quiet, sits into rear leg as he drives down the mound with an athletic move to foot strike, hips rotate well, can improve front leg block
Arm Action: LH. Full length, smooth arm path with looseness in the operation, shows solid present quickness, H3/4 slot with minimal recoil
FB: T85, 82-85 mph. Solid present riding shape with spin and velocity T2236, 2175 average rpm.
CB: 71-71 mph. vertical shape with softer spin, needs to improve feel T2238, 2238 average rpm.
SL: 70-73 mph. true SLD shape with softer spin T2215, 2044 average rpm.
CH: 72-76 mph. straighter shape with feel to effectively kill spin T1323, 1164 average rpm.
JD Moreno, Redwood High (CA), 2028
Positional Profile: LHP/OF Solid overall foundation and present with potential as he develops
Body: 6-1, 142-pounds. Wiry lean present build with room to fill
Delivery: Controlled move in load, medium knee lift with hands syncing to knee lift, sits into back leg before he drives down the mound to foot strike, hips rotate with quickness, show flashes of blocking on lead leg
Arm Action: LH. Medium path out of the glove, small glove tap, small pause at deepest point, quickness in arm path with a 3/4 release point, looseness, minimal recoil
FB: T80, 78-79 mph. Lower spin offering with potential to play to 2-seam/sinker profile T1974, 1961 average rpm.
CB: 67-68 mph. softer spin shape with vertical break T1856, 1665 average rpm.
SL: 69-71 mph. Similar shape to CB will need to add glove side action T1963, 1903 average rpm.
CH: 71-73 mph. Flashes feel for offering, arm side fade, has potential T1800, 1729 average rpm.
Ryder Purkiss, Redwood High (CA), 2028
Positional Profile: SS/RHP Solid present two-way profile with foundation, room to improve
Body: 5-11, 150-pounds. Wiry present build with room to fill
Delivery: Tempo in load with belt high knee lift, hands follow knee pushing towards rear shoulder, stays stacked at balance point, taller posture down the mound, controlled move, can improve lead leg block and direction
Arm Action: RH. Medium depth arm stroke with small pause at deepest point, stays behind his back on way up, H 3/4 slot with some present quickness, minimal recoil after release

Delivery: Belt high knee lift, hands remain quiet at chest, controlled load, stacked at balance point, small bend before leading with front leg down mound, smooth operation, hips rotate effectively, can polish lead leg block

FB: T81, 79-81 mph. Flashing ride profile with IVB and emerging spin traits T2132, 2049 average rpm.

Positional Profile: RHP/SS Solid LH hitting profile with 3B def. potential and interesting tools on the mound
Body: 6-2, 157-pounds. Wiry present build with broad shoulders, has room to fill strength on frame
Delivery: Hands and knee sync in the load of delivery, drops into rear leg from balance point to drive down the mound, athletic tempo, hips rotate effectively, can improve lead leg block and direction
Arm Action: RH. Full arm circle with depth downward and behind his body, 3/4 arm slot at release, solid present arm speed, some looseness, no recoil after release
FB: T85, 82-84 mph. Can improve the shape of FB with quality spin traits to tap into riding life, shows potential T2315, 2248 average rpm.
SL: 67-69 mph. Solid present spin, sweeper like shape, feel for offering T2409, 2293 average rpm.
CH: 74-77 mph. Softer shape, with some vertical, can improve shape T1900, 1789 average rpm.
