Top 5 Analysis

Chase Fuller SS / RHP / Lincoln, FL / 2027

The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder hardly rested on the laurels that drove him into the national spotlight, but rather built on a strong foundation with the promise of even more to come. Featuring a mature approach from the right side, minimal effort is needed in producing some of the top power in the class while effortlessly driving the ball to all fields. Although the position player status more than drives his ranking, the fact that Fuller is also an elite right-handed arm who routinely runs his fastball up to 95 mph helps the claim. Polished with multiple pitches for strikes, his competitive nature shines on the mound, where he is willing to be thrown into any situation. Still developing on all fronts, the Florida State recruit is sure to be tracked closely by professional scouts moving forward in order to build a longer track record while looking ahead to July of 2027.

Graham Houston SS / 2B / Venice, FL / 2027

A 5-foot-11, 165-pound switch-hitter, Houston was already well regarded as a top player in the country, but looked to have taken another jump at the plate. Lean and athletic with some developing, defined strength, Houston showcased some intriguing power potential from the right side of the plate with easy flick of the wrists and quality ground force that included a controlled forward movement. While slightly less natural from the left side, the bat-to-ball ability still stood out as he sprayed line drives to all fields with a bit more push of the hands. Successful in gameplay from the left side (where he received the majority of at-bats), his innate ability to slow things down in the box provided a professional look and a hitter who was never sped up by a host of power arms. Instead, there seemed to be an expectation of success that mirrored a much older player. The offense is something to monitor closely because of the fact that the defense is already an impeccable premium tool. Shifting to second base beside a talented senior shortstop, Houston looked just as comfortable, and the ball found the same spot on the mitt with every ground ball as he made athletic throws from all angles, and was a calming presence on the dirt, including making some key, big plays. Overall, the younger Houston appears more advanced offensively than his brother at the same age, but a family defensive skills session would be a marquee viewing event for any prospective infielder.

- Shooter Hunt (2/19/25)

Sebastian Wilson OF / IMG Academy, FL / 2027

Wilson was a well-known commodity even before transferring from his Illinois high school to IMG, and he made the most of the warm weather and opportunities against premier Sunshine State talent. An imposing physical presence with natural, defined strength across a 6-foot, 196-pound frame, he still exhibits a youthful look with more strength likely on the way. However, the current swing stands out with some high end power outputs that he is routinely able to get to in all counts due to advanced tracking capability and swing decisions. The hit/power profile for Wilson is enough to have the scouting community buzzing in coming years, but he also demonstrates downhill, 6.5-speed in the outfield with tracking skills that are quickly advancing in portraying a future center fielder. Only adding to his alluring prospect profile is what appears to be a willingness to get better while always playing hard.

- Shooter Hunt (5/29/25)

Max Hemenway SS / 2B / IMG Academy, FL / 2027

A native of Washington, Hemenway opted to try and push his talents to new heights with some better weather down in Florida, and found himself situated in the starting shortstop position amongst some of the top ‘25 MLB Draft prospects for IMG. Wiry-athletic at 6-foot, 165-pounds with a lean look, the Tennessee recruit performed admirably at his shortstop position with mature footwork and attention to detail in both gameplay and workouts. Sure-handed with a strong arm that will only add, there is a strong chance that he sticks at the position especially given the hard-working nature that he displayed throughout the weekend. However, the bat is sure to be the calling card, and the left-handed hitter has already built a strong track record of success in game play, and put that on display in the first weekend. Featuring a bigger leg kick to build momentum through the forward move, Hemenway’s hands deliver a heavy barrel from the ear with a more direct path that displays easy lag and plate coverage. On time throughout with quality pitch recognition he found the barrel while spraying firm line drives to all fields. The frame should continue adding significant strength, and should that aid in power outputs, look for him to maintain his residency as one of the top shortstops in the class.

- Shooter Hunt (2/19/25)

Rylan McMahan LHP / Clay, FL / 2027

McMahan has been a top-of-class arm since the 8th grade. The frame has continued to mature and has gotten stronger as the fastball velo has ticked up. Now 6'2" 180 lbs, McMahan has sat 92-94 from the left side but the wipeout slider is what separates him. He has continued to refine his mechanics to hone in his control, which will help his overall ceiling as a pitcher.
