It has been quite some time since we have expanded our VA/DC Class of 2027 Rankings. Well wait no longer. We are moving from a Top 125 to a Top 150. This class, like others, will cap at the Top 225. While updates happen four times a year, we will gradually add clusters of players twice a year until we reach that 225 player cap. While there is another late fall update, we will not expand from this 150 player total until late winter.
With the expansion comes a lengthy list of new additions to the ranked class. Some moving into the Top 50, and a significant amount of the additions slotting themselves in the 51-150 range. Today we are going to highlight ten of the more than twenty-five new faces that are moving into the ranks.
2027 Rankings Stories:
CLASS OF 2027: 10 NEW FACES
![]() |
David Cook RHP / 1B / Bassett High, VA / 2027Physical athlete with lean strength. Self listed 6-foot-3, 210-pounds and looks every bit of it. Athletic mover on the mound with above average arm speed and a fastball that has been into the low 90's. Firm slider with some depth and maintains arm speed on the pitch. Two sport standout at the southwestern Virginia school. While there is certainly some two way intrigue, Cook has stood out the most on the mound and offers plenty of intrigue and ceiling left to the profile.

Lewis Dunn C / 1B / Maggie L. Walker Gov. Sch., VA / 2027One of the most consistent hitters in the 2027 VA/DC class. Balanced, on time, consistent approach, aggressive in the zone, and an accurate barrel. Simply put, he hits. Dunn has shown hit tool, he has shown power, he has hit early and late in counts, etc etc etc. Average arm strength behind the plate and shows some accuracy to the bag. Depending on level of play, could be more 1B/DH, but the arm has continued to make strides behind the plate.

Noah Lambrinides RHP / OF / HERNDON HIGH, VA / 2027The NOVA area right hander showed extremely well at one of our summer kickoff events at Radford. Longer arm swing and works from a low three-quarter arm slot. Heavy sinker that fills the zone mostly in the low 80's and can run it up to mid 80's with some future velo. Lambrinides landed three pitches at a 67%+ rate, with the fastball and changeup being higher than 85% in the zone. Depthy slider that leans more slurve, but has a really solid feel for the zone.

Alfred Maass OF / 3B / The Carmel School, VA / 2027Heavy barrels, loud contact, impact, and a solid mix of present and future power. Swing path has some length with some natural loft built in. Well above average bat and hand speed and gets the barrel through the zone with some explosion. It is an average run that profiles more corner outfield and certainly has the strength and raw power to have a chance to impact the middle of the order.

Jairdan Pennix SS / RHP / LORD BOTETOURT HIGH, VA / 2027Athletic, loose, twitchy, and plays with a little flare to his game. Medium length to a level path swing and has a little extra juice to the pull side. Is not a power bat, but can certainly impact it at times to the pull side. Had some standout moments in front of our staff this summer where he showed his offensive prowess. He is aggressive in the zone and his combination of offensive upside and athleticism make it hard to look away when he is playing.

Alexander Quigley-Skillin RHP / 1B / Colonial Forge High, VA / 2027A physical 6-foot-4 right hander that really exploded on the scene in front of our staff early this past summer. True 2027 with proportional strength and ceiling left. Works exclusively from the stretch, weight stays on his backside, shoulders uphill, and postures up as he moves down the mound. With the taller posture comes a higher three-quarter slot. Gets it turned quick at the top with some hand and arm speed through release. QS sits mostly in the 86-88 range and can run it up a tick higher. The breaking ball can be a bit softer in the low-mid 70's, but it showed some hard bottom at times, making it play a touch quicker. Solid feel for a changeup that he really kills spin on and has a chance as a solid third pitch.

|
Colin Quilter OF / RHP / Frank W. Cox High, VA / 20276-foot-4, 185-pound athlete that really looks the part. Put together some quality outings at the plate this summer at our tournaments and continued that into the Future 50. Above average arm strength in the outfield and has some future power at the plate. Taller setup, quiet hands, and has some slight uphill path to the swing. Controlled intent in the swing and looks to do damage. Quilter, especially for his size, is an above average runner and gets out of the box well. Tends to play the game at a different pace. Will be one to follow this fall and for Cox next spring.

|
Zach Robertson OF / RHP / Riverside High, VA / 2027Well put together 6-foot-1, 187-pound athlete. Broader shoulders, higher waist, and some twitch to go along with his high end run tool. Sub 6.7 runner with positional tools that work more for left or center. More doubles power from gap to gap and the footspeed to stretch an extra bag. He gets out of the box extremely well and has another gear that adds some real value to his offensive upside.

|
Carter Sisk OF / RHP / Varina High School, VA / 2027Compact framed right handed pitcher that works with intent and effort. Longer arm swing and it comes out from a slightly higher than three-quarter arm slot. Sat in the low-mid 80's at the Virginia Vols Scout Day. The fastball just came out a little different than others and showed two quality secondary pitches. Tighter shaped slider with some depth and showed an above average mid 70's changeup with solid feel. Probably more floor than ceiling here, but it is an arm that continues to pop when we have seen him.

Ethan Wayman RHP / 3B / Christiansburg High, VA / 2027Normal effort delivery that repeats well. Wayman, on numerous occasions, has shown a low to mid 80's fastball with some pitchability and feel for spin. Full whippy arm action from a three quarter slot. Moves both the fastball and breaking balls in and out, especially creating some arm side run and sink with the fastball. The breaking ball shows really well metrically and has the chance to be an above average pitch long term. While there is some intrigue at the plate as well, the movements and stuff on the mound carry the weight here.
