Charley Chipps 3B / RHP / La Salle Catholic, OR / 2027Rankings StateRank: 31 / POS: 3
Chipps breaks into the latest rankings update as one of the highest ranked debutees after a well-rounded showing this summer. Seen at the Portland Summer ID - Session II, Chipps showed ability both on the mound and at the plate. The righty arm worked through a quick-paced wind from the 3B side of the rubber, releasing with high intent from a high 3/4 slot. The FB sat 82-84 MPH, paired with a CB/CH offspeed duo that both sit in the upper 60's. At 6'0, 160 pounds, there's plenty of strength to add in the lean frame, and more velocity could come down the line. Chipps also showcased solid BP rounds from the right side, posting exit velocites into the low 90's with plus bat speed. A 7.30 second runner, Chipps is athletic enough to stick at 3B for the time being when he's not on the mound. The upside, particularly on the mound, makes Chipps an intriguing follow moving forward. |

Julian Viña C / OF / Jesuit, OR / 2027Rankings StateRank: 36 / POS: 5
The Jesuit backstop had a great set of performances this summer, first at a Portland ID event and later at PNW State Games. The righty bat produced some of the most consistent BP rounds of any player at State Games, posting a peak exit velocity of 95.8 MPH with an average of 92.7 MPH. The wider base stays on balance through the zone with an upper half coil into a quick trigger fire. Defensively, Vina showed great strides made since the winter. The strong arm releases quickly with a best pop time of 1.96 seconds. Expect Vina to get more run in his next two high school seasons and continue to make progress in his overall game.

Cason Jacobs OF / RHP / Crescent Valley, OR / 2027Rankings StateRank: 47 / POS: 5
The physical righty had a loud performance at the Eugene Summer ID at the University of Oregon. Athletic mover for his size, ran a 6.97 60-yard dash with burst and quickness from the jump in the outfield as well. Feet stayed underneath him throughout with longer strides as he closes ground on the ball. Offensively, Jacobs flashed quick bat speed with power potential when on time, with a peak exit velocity of 101.1 MPH. Maintains a tight, compact turn to initiate swing and get barrel into the zone. The Crescent Valley prospect flashed a FB/CB combination for strikes on the mound as well. At 6'3, Jacobs should continue to be one of the better power bats in the class & is a name that could rise further in future rankings updates.

Ryder Curtiss OF / SS / Sam Barlow, OR / 2027Rankings StateRank: 59 / POS: 8
Another standout in Eugene, Curtis began his showcase well with throws up to 86 MPH with carry from the outfield. The compact frame is strong rotationally at the plate with bat speed up to 75.2 mph and a peak EV of 95.6 MPH. Curtiss was at his best when working to the pull side and LCF gap, catching the ball out front. The righty carries a heavier barrel through the zone with extension in his levers before swinging through with an uphill path. As a 7.39 second runner, Curtiss may fit best at a corner OF spot currently, but could transition to CF or an infield spot depending on how the frame matures. Curtiss is part of a strong junior class at Barlow and works his way into our ranks for the first time. |

Carson Zellick OF / LHP / Wilsonville, OR / 2027Rankings StateRank: 61 / POS: 9
The Wilsonville product has an interesting blend of present tools with room to strengthen his overall game, and the athleticism suggests he could be a player that improves in a big way in the future. The 6'0 lefty features a smooth stroke, starting in an open setup with some loft created to the big part of the field. Zellick peaked with a 95.5 MPH exit velocity, finding the barrel consistently with a max batted ball distance of 344 feet. The 7.06 second speed translated to an athletic gait in the outfield, where he showed developing arm strength from a low-3/4 slot as well. Zellick could be a breakout contributor in any of the three outfield positions for Wilsonville as he enters his upperclassman years. |
