Today we release a late summer update to the 2027 class, our third update of the year. This update has the class expanding from the Top 125 to Top 150. Below we highlight a few players that our staff had an opportunity to gather evaluations on this spring and summer.

2027 Rankings Stories:
Top 50

There were more than twenty-five new players moving into the Top 150, as well as plenty of movement throughout the rankings. Today we highlight a handful of players in the Top 50.

+ Sam Capuano - Patriot HS - RHP

Slower build up delivery with normal effort. Full arm swing and works from a three-quarter arm slot with above average arm speed through release. A mid 80's sinker that works downhill. Throws two breaking balls, a slider and a curveball. They are tighter in velo ranges, but the slider has shown well, offering some late depth and solid feel for the zone. There is some upside here with the secondary, and Capuano has shown the ability to produce on the mound in game. He is a true class 2027 that is slightly on the younger side and has plenty of room left to add to the profile.

+ Hudson Howell - Kellam HS - OF

Howell first jumped onto the radar early this summer at a scout day, and continued his trajectory up. Above average runner with above average arm strength. Has the athleticism and tools to move around the outfield. Loads in rhythm, short and compact stroke at the plate, and can create some loud contact from the 5-foot-11 frame. Does a nice job matching planes and impacting from gap to gap. While it is not a power bat, he has shown some flashes of power. Should be one of the better uncommitted 27's in the 757 next spring.

+ Braden MacNeil - Riverside HS - RHP

Long and thin 6-foot-2 frame with plenty of room to add some good weight. Normal effort delivery, above average mover, and stays on line moving down the mound. Medium length to the arm path and the arm works really well. Controlled the zone with the fastball, extending when he wanted to with the low-mid 80's sinker. Showed some feel for two softer breaking balls and a changeup. While the velo has some room to grow, the operation and pitchability leave plenty to like with the NOVA right hander.

+ Brayden Robinson - Atlee HS - 3B

Compact 5-foot-10 frame with some proportional strength. Whippy barrel at the plate with slightly above average bat and hand speed. Does not get much usage out of the lower half, but the wrist strength and barrel speed assist with the impact at the plate. Works low to the catch, hands work, and does a nice job setting up throws. Slightly above average arm strength on the left side. It is a compact athlete who tends to show up when the lights come on and has some offensive impact in game.
