September 9, 2025
Yesterday, we released our updated state rankings update, for the 2027 class, now that the summer season has come to an end. Throughout the summer, our staff traveled across the state, to see as many prospects and teams as possible, and we were able to see more prospects than we've ever seen before. Our state rankings for the 2027 class expanded to 250 players in total for this update, and there were plenty of movers and shakers throughout the list. Today, we take a look at a few guys that made a move up in this rankings update.

STATE RANKINGS RISERS (2027 CLASS)
Jason DeCuir Jr. RHP / OF / Catholic, LA / 2027Rankings StateRank: 23 / POS: 6
From 07/30/25: "DeCuir Jr. brought one of the most unique looks to this year’s Louisiana Future Games pitching staff. The Catholic High product is an athletic mover with a quick arm stroke, releasing the ball from a lower ¾ slot with a 4.9-foot release height—a trait that gives his 84-88 mph fastball added life at the top of the zone. He paired the heater with a sweeping 70-73 mph slider that moved across the zone and showed feel for a 73-75 mph changeup to round out his arsenal. When DeCuir Jr. filled up the strike zone, he proved difficult to square up, consistently inducing weak contact. With a wiry 6-0, 170-pound frame, there’s plenty of room for continued growth. As he refines his command, his already impressive stuff is only going to tick up—making his ceiling super high."

Tate Albin 2B / 3B / Doyle, LA / 2027Rankings StateRank: 41 / POS: 2
"5-8, 180-pound athletic frame with present lower-half strength. We got our first look at Albin at our Baton Rouge Summer ID back on July 1st and he's firmly put himself on our radar. Albin showed quality actions on the infield with soft hands and an accurate arm across the diamond. A left-handed hitter, he showed good bat-to-ball skills with an on-plane path to contact with extension to match and a gap-to-gap approach. Albin drove balls to all fields with a max exit velocity of 96.6 mph."

Kameron Bailey OF / LHP / Zachary, LA / 2027Rankings StateRank: 43 / POS: 11
From 07/04/25: "The Zachary product provided one of the most intriguing looks at Tuesday's event. Bailey is another really good athlete that posted a 6.97 laser-timed 60 and was up to 94.4 mph at the plate with some present bat speed. His prospects on the mound, however, got us really excited. He's an athletic mover down the slope with a clean arm stroke, and he showed feel for all four of his pitches for strikes. Bailey located his 80-81 mph fastball to both sides of the plate and the pitch plays up, thanks to an average induced vertical break of 22.3". He also showed an innate ability to spin the baseball with his 66-67 mph "1-7" shaped curveball and low-70s sweeping slider. Both pitches stayed in the 2500-2600 rpm range. Adding to Bailey's intrigue is the fact that he's super young for his class and won't turn 18 until September of his freshman year in college."
