THE TOP-10 IN THE CLASS OF 2027 ⭐

Cooper Goff OF / Mountain Ridge, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 1 / POS: 1
You will be hard pressed to find another 2027 grad who had a better year so far than Cooper. Coming off an impressive Sophomore Varsity campaign (6 2B, 1 3B, 7 HR), the offensive explosion continued into and throughout the Summer. Consistently driving balls all over the yard has become a staple for this kid. He displayed legitimate line to line HR pop from the left side, and against top arms more often than not. At 5’11” 165 lbs, the frame projects to continue to mature physically which is very exciting considering the hit/power combination tools he already possesses. Bursting into the National Top 100 this Fall as one of the top LH bats in the country, the Horned Frog Commit looks to continue his upward trend into the 2026 season.

Pratt Morley RHP / SS / Spanish Fork, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 2 / POS: 1
Pratt has had an outstanding year to date that culminated with a dominant performance at the Futures Games at Lakepoint, where he displayed a power arm that stands to continue getting better with time. Throwing from a short, low ¾ slot that explodes on hitters, he also has a feel for his SL and CH combination, with the CH being his preferred secondary pitch. A rare ability from the right side to kill spin and take the bottom out of the CH, he can truly throw it to RHH just as effectively. At 6’2 180 lbs going into his Junior year, I expect Pratt to dominate once again. Hitting in the 3 hole and starting at SS when not on the mound, he played an integral part in leading Spanish Fork to a 5A State Championship this past season. With 3 of his teammates also making the top 10 list, don’t be surprised if the Dons are back in that game again!

Ryder Huntsman RHP / SS / Pleasant Grove, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 3 / POS: 2
One of the top athletes in the Class, Ryder is a 2x Futures Games Alum and for good reason. The 6’1 right hander out of Pleasant Grove features one of the most electric arms in the state for any age. Up to 91 while regularly sitting in the upper 80s with the FB, he plays a 12-6 hammer off that extremely well. Excellent mound presence and athleticism throughout the delivery, Ryder has not reached his ceiling yet. As a two sport athlete (WR in football) you can count on added physicality year after year and for the development to continue on an upward trajectory. Playing in one of the top programs in the State, I fully expect a monster Junior season and for Ryder to be committing at a high level by next Summer!

Kayden Lambson RHP / 3B / Spanish Fork, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 4 / POS: 3
Coming off a 5A State Championship run with Kayden as the Ace of the staff, he has made some of the biggest jumps of anyone since March. Maxing the FB out at 84 in our Preseason ID last February, he has seen all of his pitching metrics explode since that event! Now topping 92 and sitting in the upper 80s with an absolute hammer of a CV, Kayden stamped his name on the National scene as someone Power 5 schools have to follow. The 6’2 Junior pounds the zone with heavy plane on the FB that really allows the CV to snap off the table, which consistently produced ugly swings and misses at Futures Games this past July. When you get elite hitters to swing at balls in front of the plate, you’re doing something right. Kayden has quickly turned himself into one of the top arms in the State regardless of Class, so don’t be shocked if he finds a big time collegiate home sooner rather than later…

Nixon Warren OF / LHP / Spanish Fork, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 5 / POS: 2
The 6’ 170 lb two sport athlete (QB in football) is one of the best Utah has to offer. Nixon possesses all the tools you look for when recruiting a true CF at the next level. A legit 6.6 runner, strong 90 mph arm from the OF, 97 EV with elite B2B skills and also a tool which is always harder to evaluate, but everyone knows it when they see it, reads/jumps from CF. Nixon is that kid who turns tough plays into “routine” looking outs. Excellent reads off the bat, combined with elite physical tools see Nixon running down balls most guys have a hard time with. I was fortunate enough to witness the defense consistently at Futures Games in July, along with clutch hit after clutch hit to keep Team UT in every game. Although an unconventional lefty thrower righty hitter, his game plays at a very high level. With a huge smile you cannot miss even if you tried, I love Nixon’s game and anticipate another All-State caliber season for the reigning State Champs!

Trig Richards LHP / OF / Salem Hills, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 6 / POS: 1
I have Trig as the top left hander in the State and for good reason. Another two sport athlete (FB/Baseball), Trig possesses present physicality at 5’11 175 lbs and attacks hitters on the mound. A strong lower half with proportionate strength throughout, he uses his frame efficiently which allows for consistent success inning to inning. Repeatable delivery with a feel for 3 pitches, and a FB sitting upper 80s T90, Trig saw 44 innings this year and punched out 58. The “stuff” is legit, headlined by a firm FB with a nasty sweeper at 2600+ spin rate that he takes the speed off well (66-70) to really make things tough on hitters. After a dominant performance at Futures Games this year he really jumped onto the National scene and garnered well deserved attention. With one of the best coaches in the State taking over at Salem, I’m even more excited to continue to follow Trig’s career moving forward.

Chase Ford RHP / SS / Orem High School Utah, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 7 / POS: 4
Chase really matured and showed high level skills during the Spring, where he began the year as a role player and blossomed into Orem’s 3 hole and starting infielder. With his 6’3 165 lb long lever frame, there is a ton of room for improved physicality that I have no doubt he will put on. Versatility along with projectability are oozing from this kid, but it also comes with consistent production. Smooth hands and a strong arm that is 88mph from both the mound and the infield, Chase possesses legit two-way potential at the next level. The type of player who can carry a team offensively for a game at any given time, and then walk to the mound and close out a win on the mound. With his work ethic and drive to improve, combined with above average physical tools and versatility, I eagerly await next season and expect Chase to be competing for the role of top player in the 5A Class when all is said and done.

Trent Chris LHP / 1B / Snow Canyon, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 8 / POS: 2
When evaluating pitchers there are numerous qualities and traits you look for, some are easy to spot and others present more of a challenge. I was fortunate to watch Trent a handful of times this Summer and got a chance to see one of those difficult to spot traits; resilience. What we do and how we respond when things don’t go our way, can say a lot about a player or person. Mark him down as someone who competes and keeps his composure during those tougher outings. A FB in the mid-upper 80s T89 with ASR that creates a lot of GB/FB outs, and a feel for the CV/CH combo, Trent presents well as a starter type arm. A big strong frame with a powerful lower half and repeatable delivery, keep an eye out for a dominant 2026 campaign from the Junior Snow Canyon Warrior. He has not hit his ceiling and I expect big things moving forward for Trent.

Sammy Dart LHP / 1B / Spanish Fork, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 9 / POS: 3
If baseball was a trait that could be passed down through generations, put Sammy down for having that in excess! You won’t find many players smarter on the field than this kid. A true ballplayer that loves the game and plays with a real passion, he combines that with elite skills especially on the mound. Up to 87 from the left side with more than a feel, but rather a command of 3 pitches, he will throw any pitch at any time, to any hitter. That consistently makes Sammy a dangerous arm to face. Smooth delivery down the mound and a live arm that is only getting better with time, count on the trend of recent growth to continue upward. He is the type of player you feel great giving the ball to when you need to win a big game. This Summer he displayed just that time and time again in big spots, including the Futures Games in both years he attended. Whoever gives this kid a chance is going to be rewarded with a great player and person!

Lincoln Eure SS / RHP / Corner Canyon, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 10 / POS: 1
We round out our Top 10 in the 2027 Class with a two-way threat that rose up the rankings more than anyone else this Summer, Lincoln Eure. Physicality and athleticism are the themes here. Up to 91 across the diamond and on the mound, the arm strength stands out. With natural SS actions with the feet/hands and the arm to stay there, I could see a future for him as a position player or pitcher at the next level. A bit unconventional delivery with a bit of “quirk” to it, hitters repeatedly displayed a tough time picking up the ball out of hand. The FB shows late life from a short arm action and has a knack for beating hitters at the top of the zone. Spin is constant for all his pitches and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. One of the hardest working kids I've been around in the class, I'm fully anticipating a monster Junior season from Lincoln.
