With the release of the latest update to our state rankings for the 2026 class, it’s a great time to take a closer look at some of the top remaining uncommitted prospects in the class. With plenty of talented players still available, our staff will dive in and highlight the top five uncommitted prospects from each position group. This time, we'll take a look at the five top ranked uncommitted middle infielders, with a short breakdown of each prospect.

Brennan McLaughlin SS / RHP / Platte County, MO / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 19 / POS: 4 McLaughlin, a 2024 Futures Games alum, has easy power to the pull side, topping out at 96.7 exit velocity in BP. He also showcased a good arm, tossing it across the diamond at 86 mph, as well as some nice athleticism, clocking a sub-7.00 60 yard dash.

Carson Twellman SS / 3B / Troy Buchanan, MO / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 55 / POS: 11 Another strong athlete, Twellman has one of the better arms in the state, hitting 90 mph throwing it across the infield. He has plenty of pop with the bat, averaging over 90 mph the last time we got to see him take BP.

Osar Tate SS / 2B / Lutheran North, MO / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 72 / POS: 13 Tate continues the trend of high-level athletes on this list, evidenced by his 6.62 60 yard dash time. He also showcased a solid arm, hitting 83 mph across the diamond, as well as some present power at the plate.

Jackson Miller SS / RHP / Chaminade, MO / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 87 / POS: 15 Miller profiles as another high-ceiling prospect, and should continue to see strides in his game as he continues to fill out his 6'3 frame. Presently, Miller has showcased some present power at the plate, as well as some nice athleticism, clocking in at over 20 mph sprint speed. He also has a good arm, tossing it around the infield at 85 mph.

  

Cohen Drake SS / RHP / Holden High, MO / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 88 / POS: 16 Drake is a high ceiling prospect with a great combination of present tools and future potential. Presently, he has excellent arm strength, tossing it across the diamond at 91 mph. At the plate, we've seen him put up exit velocities as high as 99.1 mph.
