Kansas Uncommitted Spotlight: 2026 Middle Infielders

Prep Baseball Kansas Staff

With the release of the latest update to our state rankings for the 2026 class, it’s a great time to take a closer look at some of the top remaining uncommitted prospects in the class. With plenty of talented players still available, our staff will dive in and highlight the top five uncommitted prospects from each position group. This time, we'll take a look at the five top ranked uncommitted middle infielders, with a short breakdown of each prospect.

Ben Graves SS / 2B / Lawrence Free State, KS / 2026

Graves has long been regarded as one of the better defenders in the state, and as he adds some more strength will onlg continue to develop a better arm to pair with his sure hands. The LHH has also showcased some present power, with exit velocities in the mid 90s.

Blake Jay SS / RHP / Mill Valley, KS / 2026

Jay is a two-way prospect who has seen success both on the mound and as a shortstop. He showcased great athleticism with a 6.70 60 yard dash at the Senior Future Games, while showing off his strength by tossing it around the infield at 89 mph.

Rowan Foster SS / 2B / Derby, KS / 2026

Foster is yet another excellent athlete on this list, putting together an impressive showing when we saw him at the Wichita Preseason ID last February. He ran a 6.60 in the 60 yard dash while being gunned at 91 mph across the infield. At the plate, the switch-hitter has some present power, with exit velocities in the mid 90s.

Henry Goodwin SS / 2B / St. Thomas Aquinas, KS / 2026

Goodwin is a prospect that should continue to see jumps in his game as he continues to add strength. However, there's also plenty to like presently, as Goodwin has nice athleticism with a sub-7.00 60 time, as well as having some pop at the plate with exit velocities in the low 90s.

Baylor Vesey SS / 2B / Gardner-Edgerton, KS / 2026

Vesey is one of the stronger middle infield prospects in the class, with the power numbers across the board to back it up. Defensively, he's been gunned at an impressive 91 mph across the infield, with quick, athletic moves when fielding to complement the arm strength. At the plate, he's pushed his exit velocity into the upper 90s this summer.
