With the release of the latest update to our state rankings for the 2026 class, it’s a great time to take a closer look at some of the top remaining uncommitted prospects in the class. With plenty of talented players still available, our staff will dive in and highlight the top five uncommitted prospects from each position group. This time, we'll take a look at the five top ranked uncommitted third basemen, with a short breakdown of each prospect.

Luke Baer 3B / RHP / Ozark, MO / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 48 / POS: 3 Another high-potential two-way prospect, Baer has put together a great profile both on the mound and as a third baseman. At the plate, Baer has proven to have plenty of pop, knocking on the door of triple digit exit velocities in BP, topping out at 99.1 mph. Baer has one of the best arms in the state, tossing it across the diamond at 92 mph.

Jaymeson Forest 3B / SS / Duchesne, MO / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 68 / POS: 5 Standing at 6'0 225 lbs, Forest is one of the strongest athletes in the state, and has the numbers to back it up. At the plate, he saw exit velocities as high as 102.5 when we saw him a year ago. Forest is one of top lefty power bats in the state, and will look to put up big numbers in his senior campaign for Duchesne this spring.

Kody Underwood 3B / RHP / Lee's Summit West, MO / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 76 / POS: 6 Underwood comes into this offseason fresh off an excellent summer season, and will look to parlay that success into a big senior year. He has showcased gap-to-gap power, and a good feel for the barrel.

Carson Howard 3B / RHP / Francis Howell North, MO / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 95 / POS: 8 Howard is one of the stronger prospects in the class, with the raw power tools to find himself in the middle of a lineup at the next level. At the plate, his average exit velocity was an eye-catching 99.8 mph, topping out with a 104 mph EV. His strength translates to the field as well, where we gunned him at 86 mph throwig across the diamond.

Chase Blue 3B / OF / Sullivan, MO / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 111 / POS: 9 Blue is a physical prospect at the hot corner. At the plate we saw him hit triple digit exit velocities in a round of BP this summer. Defensively, he's got solid arm strength, with enough athleticism to make the plays he needs to at third.
