Oklahoma Uncommitted Spotlight: 2026 First Basemen

Prep Baseball Oklahoma Staff

With the release of the latest update to our state rankings for the 2026 class, it’s a great time to take a closer look at some of the top remaining uncommitted prospects in the class. With plenty of talented players still available, our staff will dive in and highlight the top five uncommitted prospects from each position group. This time, we'll take a look at the five top ranked uncommitted first basemen, with a short breakdown of each prospect.

Jackson Turney 1B / LHP / Bixby, OK / 2026

After three years as a starter for Sand Springs, Turney has made the move to Bixby for his final prep season, giving the Spartans one of the top power bats in the state. As early as July of last year, Turney was turning in exit velocities in the triple digits, and has continued to develop on the defensive side of things as well.

Dallas Darrow 1B / LHP / Enid, OK / 2026

After a solid junior season last spring, shuffling around in the middle of the Enid lineup, Darrow returns for his senior campaign looking to help lead the Plainsmen back to the state tournament after falling short in regionals last season. Darrow has a unique profile, batting from the right side while being a left-handed thrower, and should play a key role both on the mound and at first base this spring.

Grant Richards 1B / LHP / Deer Creek, OK / 2026

Richards is a high upside prospect with a chance to see some big jumps his senior season as he continues to add strength to a 6'5 frame. The left-hander had a nice summer at the plate, and will look to parlay that success into a big spring as Deer Creek looks to get back in the mix as a contender in 6A.

Jaden Fletcher 1B / OF / Newcastle, OK / 2026

After spending his first year at Newcastle behind our top rated first baseman in the 2025 class, Fletcher will look to have a big senior campaign as he steps into the starting spot for the Racers. Fletcher is a big bat, with exit velocities topping at 96.7 mph when we saw him in 2024. He also has impressive athleticism for his size, clocking a sub-7.00 60 yard dash while measuring in at 6'5 255 lbs.

Jake McHenry 1B / RHP / Piedmont, OK / 2026

McHenry will have a shot to be a key piece both on the mound and at the plate for what should be another tough Piedmont squad next spring. The right-hander had a nice showing at our Upperclass Games in June, especially in BP where he put down exit velocities in the mid 90s.
