Moore Takes Over #1 Spot
![]() |
Lincoln Moore SS / RHP / Kentlake, WA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 1
After holding strong at the number two slot for the first two rankings lists, Moore jumps up to the top spot after a series of exceptional looks this summer. The 6'2 middle infielder has tools upon tools and an extremely advanced overall skillset for his age, highlighted at the PNW State Games and PNW Scout Games. The loud metrics were on display in BP rounds and the workout portion of the State Games event, and the talent translated in-game as well with several standout defensive plays and quality at-bats. Moore paired this with a quality look against the best high school competition in the area at Scout Games, moving extremely well for his size at shortstop while swinging it well too. Moore offers a great mix of a high floor player with plenty of upside, which should make him one of the most sought-after players in the area once his recruiting period opens next summer. From 8/8/25... "One of the best prospects in the PNW stood out in a big way, delivering arguably the best BP on workout day to go alongside a real exciting glove tool and overall game. Left the yard a number of times to the pull side and to LCF, with a max exit velocity of 99.6 MPH and a peak batted ball distance of 372 feet. Stays stacked on a strong backside until a late, sudden slight uphill path through the zone. On the barrel with a 94.1 MPH average EV. Ran a 6.99 60-yard dash time. Should stick at SS with minimal wasted movement and a quick fire release and throws up to 84 MPH across the diamond. Must-follow in years to come."

Several Summer Standouts in the Top 10

Sennet Timmermans RHP / OF / Lincoln, WA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 7
The ultra-smooth 6'5 arm was at his absolute best at PNW State Games, striking out 6 in 3 dominant innings of work. Timmermans works from a simple, repeatable delivery from the stretch, generating extension with plenty of arm speed out front. The overall polish and fluidity of the delivery really stands out for his underclass status. The Lincoln arm relied predominantly on a FB/SL combination, with the FB sitting 84-87 T87.6 MPH and the SL sitting 74-78 MPH. Both offerings were commanded well, with the FB playing to all parts of the zone and the SL consistently landed to the glove side. One of the highest-upside arms should continue to profile well as a starter, particularly if a third offering is developed. Timmermans will be seen alongside Moore at the Super Sophomore Games this fall.

Trey Holdren 1B / LHP / Southridge, WA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 8
After a strong showcase this winter at the Central Washington Preseason ID, Holdren continued to look the part of a Top-10 player at State Games this July. The lefty bat began his week with some of the best and most consistent BP rounds of any player, peaking with a 99.7 MPH and averaging a 95.6 MPH exit velocity. Holdren showcased present power to the gaps in a physical frame. The Southridge lefty also filled up the strike zone when on the mound, mixing in a FB/CH/CB arsenal and running his velocity up to 83.3 MPH. Holdren should build on a successful freshman high school season and be one of the more imposing '28 bats in years to come.

Ben Byeman 1B / OF / Eastlake, WA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 10
The lone new addition to our latest Top 10, Byeman earned a jump in the rankings after a breakout performance at Bannerwood this August. One of several powerful lefty's near the top, Byeman blasted balls up to 102.1 MPH in BP rounds, averaging 90.5 MPH throughout. The Eastlake product caught balls out front with ease with a tighter turn and high two-handed finish. What separated Byeman in our most recent look was his increased athleticism, highlighted by a 6.88 60-yard dash time. Currently a first baseman, the underclassman could see a transition to a corner outfield spot moving forward, though he showed solid actions and feel for the infield spot as well. Look for Byeman to be a breakout player in 2026.

Other Notable Risers

Jacob Powell 3B / 1B / Franklin Pierce High School, WA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 15
Powell was a breakout two-way player at State Games after showing plenty of ability in the preseason. The Franklin Pierce product had a quiet, steady demeanor with confidence shown throughout. On the mound, the FB had ride from a high-slot release, working up to 84.5 MPH and averaging spin rates north of 2350 RPM. A CH/SL offspeed combination also carried plus spin rates sitting in the mid-70's. Offensively, Powell featured a longer path to contact at the plate from the right side with some present bat speed. The righty had sound BP rounds, posting exit velocities up to 94.1 MPH and a peak batted ball distance of 347 feet. The 7.17 second runner with a longer-limbed 6'1 frame is likely to settle at 3B moving forward.

Dominic D'Amico SS / RHP / Bainbridge, WA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 16
The 6'2 prospect saw some varsity run for a quality high school program in his freshman spring. D'Amico carried this over to a strong summer look, presenting a quality hit tool with athleticism present. The righty maintains a tight turn and a direct path to contact to produce flush contact. D'Amico peaked with a 97.4 MPH exit velocity in BP rounds, averaging 87.5 MPH with plus bat speed. The sophomore is likely more of a corner INF type defensively in the future with 81 MPH throws across the diamond in our summer look, paired with a 7.15 60-time as well. D'Amico could work his way even further up future rankings lists as the frame and toolset continue to develop, but at the same time he is already one of the more mature righty bats in the area.

Izik Ontiveros C / 3B / Eastmont, WA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 21
Twitchy-strong medium-framed athlete was another winner at State Games, impressing both in-game and in the workout portion of the event. Found multiple barrels to the gaps for XBH's in gameplay. The Eastmont backstop found the sweet spot with ease with a mostly pull approach in BP, peaking with a 94.8 MPH exit velocity and averaging 87.2 MPH. Ontiveros also features enough arm strength defensively with quickness and a tight transfer to produce a best pop time of 2.00 seconds. With advanced physicality and strength for his frame and age, Ontiveros is a must-follow locally.

Colton Smith 3B / SS / Ferris, WA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 22
The arm talent of Smith turned the heads of Prep Baseball Scouts at State Games, and will be an intriguing follow moving forward. The 6'0 righty featured an athletic delivery, using his lower half well with a loose, whippy arm action. A 3/4 slot release gave some natural run to the FB, inducing soft contact early in counts. The FB sat 81-84 and topped out at 84.4 MPH. Smith mostly leaned on a slower, sweeping 68-70 MPH SL as a change of speed pitch, but did flash a CH at 76 MPH as a third option. The overall operation on the mound carries a ton of value, and paired with low-90's exit velocities as well, Smith offers two-way ability moving forward.
