Top 5 Analysis

Yariel Diaz LHP / 1B / TNXL Academy, FL / 2028

Diaz continues to show a polished arsenal with command of the zone. Upper 80s to low 90s from the left side. Sharp curveball with depth and a changeup for strikes. Understands how to pitch and attack hitters. Coming off a stint with Team USA 15U.

DJ Ford OF / RHP / Plant, FL / 2028

Ford is one of the best athletes the state of Florida has seen in a few years. True center fielder who can go get it. Plus runner with multiple sub-4.00 home-to-firsts this summer. Game-changer on the base paths with power that continues to develop.

Aiden Kearney SS / RHP / Hagerty, FL / 2028

Kearney started at shortstop and batted in the middle of the order as a freshman for a Hagerty team that made it to the State Final Four. Physically advanced with power potential in his bat. Above-average arm will keep him on the left side of the dirt long term.

Alex Rodriguez SS / RHP / Plant City, FL / 2028

Rodriguez burst onto the scene this summer after a strong spring where he started as a freshman. Switch-hitter with a mature approach and developing power potential. Uses his lower half well and can drive both gaps. Defensively, has an above-average glove at short. Bouncy with range and soft hands.

Kohen Poplin  RHP / SS / Venice, FL / 2028

Poplin has some of the biggest upside in this class. Dynamic mover on the mound with a fastball that jumps. Upper 80s/low 90s with more room to get stronger and add velo. Spins a sharp swing and miss breaking ball. Overall, an above-average athlete who can swing it and defend well at short as well. MVP of the 2025 NHSI.
