September 10, 2025
With a busy summer circuit now in the books, several sophomores in Wisconsin’s 2027 class used the past few months to catch eyes and earn the recognition they deserve. This update brought plenty of movement up and down the board, with several sophomores placing their name for the first time on this list — including a number of prospects who pushed their way into the top-100 after strong summer performances.
TOP-100 NEWCOMERS
+ 1B/RHP Aedan Waterstreet (Appleton North)
From 7/22/25: “is a lesser known prospect in the state that certainly belongs after his performance during yesterday’s workout. Waterstreet has a natural and smooth swing from the left side of the plate and was driving balls to all fields during his round of batting practice. He reached one of the highest max exit velocities of the day at 99.3 mph and drove a ball 358 feet. Waterstreet is a two-way talent and our staff is looking forward to seeing how the right-hander performs on the mound later in the week.”
+ INF/RHP Mason Sturma (Waterford)
From 3/28/25: “is a long, wiry and projectable 5-foot-9, 144 pounds two-way prospect. Sturma impressed with the bat that featured a loose, easy and well-sequenced right-handed swing that produced an impressive 92 mph max exit velocity off the bat. He was 80 mph across the infield during defensive work that demonstrated smooth actions to both sides, soft hands and feel for the middle infield. On the mound, the sophomore ran the fastball up to 81 mph with a downhill angle and mixed in a curveball and slider for strikes to go with it. Sturma has upside and our staff will continue to monitor his development going forward.”
+ OF/LHP Cole Clarke (Oshkosh West)
From 7/31/25: “Clarke continues to look the part of an uncommitted name to know in Wisconsin's 2027 class. He stands in a 6-foot-1, 173-pound frame with athleticism and strength, and showed a simple, easy delivery on the mound with a clean arm path. His fastball worked up to 84.6 mph and played with heavy arm-side action at times (T-24.7"), and he spun his breaking ball well (avg. 2517 rpm), which sat 69-73 mph.”
+ LHP/1B Keegan Kruzan (Wausau West)
From 9/9/25: “a long-limbed, 6-foot-1, 192-pound frame with plenty of room to fill out, Kruzan put together a strong year on the diamond, starting off by grabbing eyes at the Wausau Preseaon ID and following it up with an impressive summer on the mound. The left-hander showcased a three-pitch mix, getting up to 81 mph with the fastball, spinning it 2444 RPM, the curveball sitting in the upper 60s, with a big hook, and the cutter sitting in the lower 70s, more of a gyro shape. On the mound, the left-hander works from the stretch only, with a high leg kick, working down the mound with a high leg finish through release. The arm works out of a ¾ slot, quick out of the hand.
+ INF Damen Lonstine (Cedarburg)
From 2/26/25: “made a statement with his performance on Sunday. Lonstine ran one of the best 60’s of the day at 6.71 seconds showing considerable burst off the line and quick turnover once underway. Lonstine has explosive hands through the baseball and registered a max exit velocity of 93 mph. He likely sticks up the middle on the dirt but it remains to be seen if it will be at 2B or SS. Our staff was impressed with his actions on defense overall. Lonstine continues to be an intriguing prospect and continues to improve every time we see him.”
+ 1B/RHP Wyatt Stauss (Marinettle)
From 9/9/25: “a strong build with clear strength through his 6-foot-1, 240-pound frame, Stauss presents an upside power bat in the Wisconsin 27’ class. Peaking with a 96 mph exit velocity during our Wausau Peasosn ID, the right-hander works with a balanced set up, leg lift trigger, with strong hands working the barrel on a direct path through the zone. Through the summer, Stauss was able to put together solid weekends, showcasing in-game results with the pull-side power being put on display.”
+ OF Sam Jandrisevits (New Berlin West)
From 2/26/25: “is an interesting prospect with some upside. His 5-foot-11, 147 pounds long and wiry frame shows considerable room to add more size and strength. His loose and fluid swing with a natural move and feel for the barrel was on display during batting practice. The Sophomore right-handed hitter was all over the barrel throughout his round and registered a max exit velocity in the high 80s. He was also 86 mph from the outfield and showed aggressive and controlled actions through the ball. Jandrisevits is a player we are high on and are excited to view how he develops.”
+ C/1B Alex Solberg (New Richmond)
From 7/31/25: “Powerful 6-foot-3, 217-pound frame. The right handed hitter took one of the loudest rounds of batting practice reaching a peak exit velocity of 100.3 mph with, which translated to the games, where he hit a home run out to left-center field in game one. Athlete with strength and feel for the barrel at the plate, defensively Solberg plays with steady actions and athletiscm behind the plate.”
+ 1B/RHP Derrik Beckstrand (Elkhorn Area)
From 3/28/25: “had a very nice day on Saturday. The 6-foot-3, 237 pound two-way player with considerable strength throughout his frame was impressive with the bat. The fast left-handed swing showcased some serious pop with the bat and produced some loud contact by averaging 88 mph with his exit velocity and maxed out at 94 mph. On the mound Beckstrand showcased some arm strength up to 85 mph with the fastball and 3 secondaries to go with it including the curveball, slider and change up. + RHP Paul Schmolinske (Menasha)
From 9/9/25: “a lean 6-foot, 250-pound frame, Schmolinske put together a performance that was catching the eyes of our staff at the Wisconsin State games. The right-hander operates out of a wide base, repetitive, medium leg lift motion, with an open foot strike. The arm works out of a fluid full-circle motion from a high ¾ slot. Through his outing, Schmolinske showcased a three-pitch mix with the fastball sitting in the lower 80s, T86 mph, with slight cutting action. The curveball was 67-68 mph, with a hard late break, and the slider was 69-72 mph, with a sweeper profile, gaining -21.4 inches of horizontal movement.”

He sets up to hit with a low stance with a wide base, toe-tap trigger, hands working with his body through the swing. He hit the ball hard consistently throughout his round, topping out at 98.1 mph with a 90.6 average exit velocity throughout his round with a line drive approach. On the mound, he features a loose and athletic delivery, with a high leg lift and slight drop in his back leg into extension, throwing out of a high 3/4 slot. He offered a fastball in the 80-82 mph range with some late arm-side life, as well as a 70-72 mph curveball with lateral bite and a low-70s changeup that did a quality job of killing spin.”

Showing his athletic ability for his frame, running a 7.09 60 time. The long-limbed left-handed bat sets up with a closed base and present rhythm in the hands. Gaining ground with a leg lift trigger with hands that work quick through the zone, generating slight whip with the barrel. Madsen is able to use his long levers to generate loud contact off the bat. In the field, the right-hander shows a patient approach with soft hands and solid range for his size.”
+ C Bo Dooley (Mukwonago)
From 9/9/25: “a compact 5-foot-9, 183-pound frame, Dooley spent the summer catching the attention of our staff. The right-hander sets up with a wide base with slight sink into the back hip and hands that explode through the zone at a peak of 22.5 mph, which creates a flat and direct path through the ball. The power has ticked up every time we have seen him as well, jumping up to a max of 93 mph off the bat with 70.5 mph bat speed. Behind the plate, Dooley is an athletic and aggressive fielder with a clean transfer resulting in a 1.95 pop-time.”

The sophomore has a high ceiling and continues to project well.”
+ INF/RHP Boden Brandner (Hartford Union)

+ RHP Hunter Buchan (Muskego)
From 7/31/25: “Standing in at a a long-levered 5-foot-11, 156-pounds, there is some projection in Buchan's frame that could lead to added strength. He showed off four different offerings throughout the events, possessing a quality feel for spin. Buchan has a high-tempo delivery down the mound with athleticism, utilizing a high leg kick and heavy coil into extension. Throwing out of a high 3/4 slot, Buchan has a loose arm action to throw the ball. He attacked hitters with a mid 80s fastball with up to 2373 rpms of spin and had a quality feel for the zone with the pitch. Buchan offered a look at two different breaking balls: a 67-68 mph CB with 2657 average rpms and a 68-71 mph slider with an average of 2745 rpms.
