From polished defenders with advanced instincts to offensive catalysts capable of driving lineups, this group blends present tools with long-term projection. Several are already proven varsity contributors, while others are just beginning to scratch the surface of their ceilings. Here’s a closer look at some of the standouts who are shaping the future of Nebraska baseball.

Jaxson Appuhn SS / OF / Millard South, NE / 2026


One of the top uncommitted hitters in the 2026 class. Versatile defender across the infield but projects best as an offensive-minded second baseman with range. Offensively, shows a short, quick stroke with gap-to-gap power. Averaged 91.2 mph exit velocity at the event and slashed .394/.478/.615/1.093 for Millard South in 2025.

Tanner Evans SS / 2B / Millard North, NE / 2026

2024 Future Games Team Midwest attendee. Plays above raw metrics offensively with barrel control from the left side and advanced instincts on the bases. Defensively shows true middle-infield actions with confident hands and feet, playing with pace and decisiveness. Profiles best as a second baseman with top-of-the-order upside and plus defensive range.
