Central Alabama Fall ID: Quick Hits

Prep Baseball Alabama Staff

OPELIKA, AL - On Sunday, September 14th, the Central Alabama Fall ID kicked off the Fall ID Tour at Opelika High School in Opelika, AL. This event was an open event that consisted of prospects from the 2026-2030 classes. These players went through an pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, Blast Motion, defensive workout, Vizual Edge testing, and more. Pitchers were able to throw simulated bullpens and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Sunday.

Continuing our post-event coverage for this event, we take a look back at some of the top performers from the showcase. Please continue to check back over the next week, as we will release other leaderboards and individual scouting reports on each player present at the event.

+ RHP Bryant Hopkins (Valley, 2027) is a recent Future Gamer who’s quickly vaulted into the upper-tier of the ’27 class. Athletic 6-0, 173-pound frame with a smooth, effortless delivery and advanced four-pitch mix. FB 86-88, T88.5 with late life/tail and consistent strikes. True separator is feel for spin: CB (70-73, T2937 RPM) with depth/vertical action & SL (73-75, T2851 RPM) with heavy sweep (-20.9 in. HZM), both showing swing-and-miss traits. Also flashes an 80 mph CH with late dive. Polished arsenal and big-time arm talent college recruiters need to be on early.

+ 3B Carter Judah (Glenwood, 2026) continues to show as one of the top uncommitted bats in the '26 class in Alabama. A strong, compact 5-8, 194-pounder, Judah shows a well-connected right-handed swing that delivered consistent hard contact to all fields during BP, peaking at a 100.0 mph EV to lead the event. The barrel seems light with true bat speed and quick hands and also does a good job of getting down early on-time using a toe-tap trigger for timing. Also clocked a 6.96 60 YD. Scorched his way to a standout junior season with five HRs this past spring to lead the Gators to a state title.

+ OF Warner McDonald (Opelika, 2026) posted quality numbers across the board and emerged as a clear-cut winner for Sunday's event. An athletic 5-7, 158-pounder, the uncommitted senior combines a quality blend of athleticism/twitch and strength to his profile and showcased both in various facets. Using a simple right-handed operation, McDonald uses a simple forward move to get to contact and allows the compact strength to do damage, posting a 99.6 mph EV and a 391 ft. max distance during his round of BP. Has quick hands and rotates hard in the swing. Also posted a 6.97 60 YD.

+ SS Hank Hudson (Opelika, 2026) arguably had one of the better collections of tools out of any prospect in attendance, as the uncommitted '26 grad ranked near the top of most statistical categories. A 5-11, 178-pounder, Hudson has an athletic frame with noticeable proportional strength throughout. The right-handed swing was smooth during this look, as he consistently hammered balls to the pull-side using an upward path and meeting the ball out front with extension. Shows a controlled load with gradual shift of weight forward. Also led the event with a 6.94 60 YD and touched 92 mph across the INF during the defensive portion of the workout.

+ OF/RHP Camden Pilate (Opelika, 2028) flashed some intriguing two-way upside and will be a '28 grad to follow over the next few years. A lean, high-waisted 5-11, 148-pounder with athleticism and projection, Pilate possesses a smooth, athletic right-handed swing that does a good job of working into the lower-half to generate strength. The barrel works on an upward path using a clean, quick path to contact to help produce a line-drive approach. Repeats the swing well and will only continue to see higher exits as he keeps developing and physically maturing. On the mound, he touched 81 mph with the FB, but there's plenty more in the tank down the road.

+ OF Trendon Beebe (Gulf Shores, 2026) has appeared to have made some significant strides over course of the past six months, as he's improved many of his previous numbers since attending his last event in January. A 5-8, 179-pounder with compact strength, the uncommitted senior has a quick, repeatable right-handed swing that delivered frequent line drives to all fields throughout his round of BP. The barrel stays flat and level through the zone while keeping it fluid and using a strong lower-half to generate force. Stays balanced throughout the operation well and shows some efficient rhythm. Cut his 60 YD from 7.48 to 7.33 and improved his top EV from 88.3 mph to 98.4 mph at this event.

+ SS Sye Siggers (Opelika, 2026) was another quality standout from the offensive portion of the workout, as the uncommitted '26 consistently sprayed firm contact to all parts of the field during his round of BP. An athletic 5-9, 163-pounder, the right-hander has a controlled load with a toe-tap trigger and an early move to slot the hands higher before working the barrel on a clean, level path through the zone. Shows some quality bat speed in the swing with a more line-drive approach right now. Ran a 7.01 60 YD and posted a top EV of 96.6 mph.

+ C Sawyer Moss (Glenwood, 2028) made a quick impression during his first Prep Baseball event with a loud showing during his round of BP. A 6-1, 193-pounder with mature strength evident in the frame, Moss showcased easy gap-to-gap pop throughout his swings. Barrels works on an upward path through contact and turns the barrel over with good intent using a strong top hand. Posted a top EV of 95.7 mph and should continue to hit for higher volumes of power in the near future as he continues to develop. Also recorded pop times ranging 2.00-2.21 with a 70 mph C velocity.
