Today, we will be looking at some of the top prospects that stood out to our staff within this Takeaways story.

TAKEAWAYS

+ 1B/OF Greyson Alesia (Hinsdale Central, 2027) put together one of the better all-around showings at the event. Presenting a projectable frame at a trim, 6-foot-3, 160-pounds, the left/left prospect was among the event leaders in the 60, posting a 6.95. He showed a loose and athletic swing from the left side that reached a max EV of 91 mph (avg. 86.1 mph), while hitting his furthest ball 339 feet. Alesia also showed natural actions and feel for the first base position during defense; picking balls with ease and showing flexibility around the bag.

+ C/INF Joseph Grimm (Oswego East, 2026) is an uncommitted right-handed hitter to know from the event. He stands in at a strong 5-foot-10, 190-pound frame, and led the event in max EV (97.9 mph), average EV (88.7 mph), average distance (298’), average hand speed (22.9 mph), and was second in max distance (366’), max hand speed (24.6 mph). He has a flat swing with length through the zone that produced jump off the barrel, while using the middle/pull-side parts of the field. Defensively, Grimm led the event in pop time range behind the dish, posting a top time of 2.07, and showing reliable transfers out of the chute.

+ OF/RHP Tyler Scott (Waubonsie Valley, 2028) was a two-way who impressed throughout the day. The 5-foot-10, 150-pound right-handed hitter showed the ability to drive the ball to the middle and pull-side parts of the field with sneaky jump off the barrel, peaking at 90.4 mph off the bat and reaching a max distance of 343 feet. Defensively, Scott showed a loose and accurate arm from the outfield, with his best bullet registering at 82 mph - which was the second-best for the event. On the other side of the ball, Scott is a clean mover with an athletic arm, showing feel for a sharp breaking ball and fastball that played up to 81 mph.

+ A pair of 2027’s from Burlington Central each showed well with the bat in OF Thomas Koertgen and INF Connor Sreckov.

Koertgen, a 5-foot-9, 151-pound right-handed hitter, flashed athletic twitch in the swing and reached a max EV of 90 mph.

Sreckov, a 6-foot-1, 183-pound corner infielder showed to have barrel strength throughout his round; topping out at 93 mph off the bat and had some of the quicker hands for the event (22.5 mph average hand speed).

+ LHP Taylor Martin (Yorkville, 2028) showed some intriguing attributes on the mound in the workout. He has present athleticism in his 5-foot-10, 185-pound frame, also running to a 6.92 in the 60. He has a longer arm action and tall/fall delivery, sitting 80-82 mph with the four seam with above-average spin (T2435 rpm) and some carry. His sinker is a quality offering at 80-84 mph with running action to his arm-side and a clear difference in shape. He also showed a sweeping curveball with around 2,400 rpm to fill out his arsenal.

+ LHP Daniel Koertgen (Burlington Central, 2027) is a smooth moving southpaw to follow. He has clean and easy movement patterns with more in the tank, working up to 79 mph with the fastball in his ‘pen with carry traits. He also showed feel for both an 11/5 curveball and fading changeup.

+ RHP Tyler Dudzienski (Oswego East, 2029) will be a young arm to follow in the coming years with a fastball up to 78 mph, a big-breaking curveball and loose movement patterns to pair.

+ RHP Olin Bullock (Naperville Central, 2028) is another arm we could see making some jumps in the near future. He’s 5-foot-11, 130-pounds, pairing with a clean arm and upside to dream on. The fastball came out clean in the mid-70s, showing three pitches with well above-average spin on the curveball (T2511 rpm).

+ LHP Greyson Alesia (Hinsdale Central, 2027) stands in at 6-foot-3, 160-pounds with a high waist and more to come physically. His fastball showed natural heavy running action up to 76 mph, pairing with a slider and a changeup.
