Midwest Premier Super 14

The Midwest Premier Super 14 offers an early glimpse into the future as the evaluation process begins to identify potential impact freshmen heading into their first high school spring. This year’s field was loaded with young talent from Kansas, Missouri, and surrounding states, with 66 players advancing to the Prep Baseball Junior Future Games at LakePoint. Now, let’s dive into the Final Four and relive the action.

Semifinal 1: Iowa Sticks 2029 Red defeated Prime 27:17 14u National in just four innings. Tripp Rypma went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, including a double and an RBI. On the mound, Brooks Anderson was dominant, throwing four innings while allowing just one run on two hits. Anderson also contributed at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBIs and a home run.

Semifinal 2: In the second semifinal of the day, Hitters U14 Navy (Caledonia, WI) came away with an 8-4 victory over Building Champions 14U Navy. Cael Ebert, Chris Worrel Jr., Hunter Shepstone, and Matthew Nolan each collected two hits to lead the offense. Shepstone also contributed on the mound, throwing three strong innings while allowing just one run on three hits and striking out five.

Championship Game:

Iowa Sticks 2029 Red and Hitters U14 Navy 2029 squared off in a thrilling seven-inning final that went down to the wire. The Sticks jumped out to an early two-run lead in the bottom of the first on back-to-back doubles from Chase Spieker and Brooks Anderson. Hitters Navy answered right back in the next half inning, tying the game at 2 on a Cash Panosian single and an error that brought in another run.

In the top of the fourth, Oliver Peltz gave Hitters the lead with a sacrifice fly to center. The Sticks responded in the bottom of the fifth when Bodan Hlavac drove in a run on a sac fly to center. In the sixth, Beckett Immel delivered the go-ahead single up the middle, which proved to be the game-winning run.

Super 14 MVP: Tripp Rypma would be the MVP as he hit .636 with an OPS of 1.590 for the week.
