As the summer comes to an end, the Prep Baseball Arkansas staff has once again updated the state’s 2028 rankings. We have our biggest update to date after our loaded preseason showcase season. We saw over 80 talented freshmen expanding our list from 30 to 50 players with the addition of over 50 names.

It is important to note in an update this large, there are players that may decline in total rank even with improvement and passing some peers simply due to the number of names added. For an in-depth look at how we put our rankings together, click HERE.

Notable changes to this rankings include two prolific risers and five newcomers in the top 50.

Easton Snellings OF / C / Benton, AR / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 7 / POS: 2 Snellings finds himself jumping into the top 10 landing him at 7 after previously being ranked 11 with his recent performances that include the Super Sophomore Games in Kansas City. He is a fundamentally sound player with smooth, compact left-handed swing. Offensively, they show a mature approach with a short, simple path to the ball, consistently producing line drives to all fields. With a high baseball IQ and natural feel for the game, he has a poised and well-rounded presence who projects as a reliable contributor at the next level.

Austin Hill LHP / OF / Benton, AR / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 16 / POS: 2 Hill jumps up 3 spots in the newest rankings as he continues to develop his game. He is a polished left-handed pitcher with clean, repeatable mechanics and advanced feel for his arsenal. Shows the ability to pound the zone with a lively fastball and a sharp breaking ball that tunnels well and generates consistent swing-and-miss. With a strong foundation and a true out-pitch in the breaking ball. This LHP has the tools to be a highly effective arm at the next level.

NEWCOMERS

Cameron Henderson LHP / OF / Rogers, AR / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 5 / POS: 1 Henderson is a left-handed pitcher with a strong and durable build that stands out for his smooth, repeatable mechanics and the effortless velocity they generate. The arm works cleanly with natural fluidity, allowing for consistent command and late life on the fastball. Their delivery is low-effort yet efficient and shows a feel for developing off-speed pitches. With their pose, pitchability, and physical foundation, he has all the ingredients to be a high-upside arm at the next level.

Sidney Palma OF / RHP / Greene County Tech, AR / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 13 / POS: 3 Palma is an athletic two-way standout that brings dynamic potential to the field with an impressive combination of above average speed, raw talent, and a high ceiling for development. On the mound, they show flashes of dominance with projectable velocity and emerging command, while at the plate, their quick hands and solid approach hint at future impact. Their advanced baseball IQ, smooth actions, and consistent fundamentals make them a dependable presence wherever they’re needed. Offensively, they bring a balanced approach with disciplined awareness and athletic instincts that make them a constant threat. Reese Cavitt SS / OF / Har-Ber, AR / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 18 / POS: 5 Cavitt is a quick and twitchy player with high-energy actions and plenty of room to grow, as he flashes exciting upside on both sides of the ball. Offensively he brings a short and simple swing to the plate that produces a consistent bat path. Still developing physically, this player has the foundation, work ethic, and natural twitch to elevate their game significantly as they continue to mature and add strength.

Preston Kendall C / OF / Fayetteville, AR / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 19 / POS: 4 Kendall is a physically strong and athletic catcher that brings a well-rounded skillset and presence behind the plate. Defensively, they show advanced receiving ability, quiet hands, and solid blocking skills, paired with a strong accurate arm. Their athletic frame allows for agility in the crouch and durability throughout games. Offensively, he brings a swing with intent and balance which allows for him to impact the game on both sides of the ball.
