Scout Blog

Jordyn Houston, 2B, 2027, Mandarin (FL)
The uncommitted junior is the definition of a prototypical lead-off bat and it was evident Sunday morning. Houston set the tone out of the lead-off spot for Coastal Prospects as he helped them advance in bracket play. Finished 3-for-3 with 3 singles, 3 runs, and an RBI. The RHH shows an extremely quick trigger with fast hands through the zone that allow him to find consistent contact throughout the zone. Innate pitch recognition stands out as Houston looks to do damage early in-counts backed by an advanced all-fields approach. This is the type of profile that will translate immediately at the next level and there is much more to come physically.

Parker Williams, OF, 2026, Starr’s Mill
Uncommitted. Williams has impressed in each look this fall with more of the same continuing this past weekend. Including a pull-side RBI double that left the bat at (99 EV) in the championship game Standing a physical, athletic 6-foot-0, 175-pounds, Williams exudes great body control with good balance and rhythm throughout the swing. Strength from the ground-up with excellent barrel feel and leverage through the zone. The LHH shows present accuracy in the zone with fluid hands and ability to spray the ball from line to line. High-floor tools litter the profile for Williams and the continued track record of hitting only makes the profile that much better. The Starr’s Mill OF is one of the top uncommitted bats still on the market in the state and will bolster a multitude of recruiting classes at any level.

Colten Brown, RHP, 2028, Harrison
It was an intriguing first look at the Harrison RHP in relief on Friday night. Brown would slam the door as he punched out 3 across 2.0 IP of no-run ball to preserve the 1-0 lead in a victory. The RHP creates easy deception from a low ¾ arm slot and repeats well. Fastball lived in the low 80s (T83 MPH) with heavy arm-side run and sink that missed barrels and jammed RHH. Slider showed depth at 68-70 and tunneled effectively off the fastball. Brown shows the ability to mix well and generate soft contact if any and has a chance to see quality innings in the spring.

Chase Woodley, 3B, 2029, Charlotte Christian (NC)
The ‘25 Junior Future Games alum looks the part of a name to know in the class heading into HS ball. Woodley kicked off the 8 AM slate on Sunday with loud contact as he unloaded on one to RF for a 2-run Home-run. The LHH generates strength from the ground-up as he gets deep into his lower half and leverages his back hip extremely well. Present feel for the barrel stands out in a well-leveraged path with budding impact in the barrel to match. There is plenty of strength to project upon throughout the physical, athletic 6-foot-0, 170-pound frame as well.

Grant Bradley, 3B, 2027, Holy Innocents
Uncommitted. The Holy Innocents 3B really burst onto the scene during the spring and summer circuit and the stock only continues to rise in each look to start the Fall. Bradley delivered barrel after barrel in the heart of the 643 lineup that made a run at the Fall Invite championship. Physical and broad-shouldered at 6-foot-0, 192-pounds, Bradley possesses real strength throughout the frame. Stays well-balanced with explosive hands through the zone and excellent feel for the barrel in a well-leveraged path. Game power shows up regularly with the ability to generate significant carry to all-fields. Ability to handle velocity and spin really stand out backed by a mature approach. The glove is equally as loud at the hit corner with athletic actions throughout and present arm strength to match. Simply put, Bradley is going to hit at the next level along with a strong glove at 3B and will be a good add for any recruiting class.

Savon Harper, OF, 2026, Westlake
Uncommitted. Standing a physical and athletic 6-foot-3, 205-pounds projection is easy to see. There is immense strength throughout that shows up in-game often. Harper would take arguably one of the best swings of the weekend. The Westlake OF would get something to handle in a 2K count as he read breaking-ball all the way and didn’t miss it as he unloaded on it to LCF for the no-doubt 2-run home-run (102 EV/414ft.). Simple actions at the plate with strength from the ground up and impact in the barrel in a well-leveraged path. There is huge power projection throughout the profile for Harper and he remains one of the top uncommitted power bats still on the market.

Avery Jackson, 3B, 2028, Winchester (TN)
Jackson proved that he had some of the most pop in the entire tournament with a homer over the left field fence. His build suggest that he can add strength without sacrificing quickness, giving him both athletic tools and long-term upside. Jackson swings a weapon at the plate. His hands are quick and compact through the zone allow for extra-base power, making him a threat to impact the game both as a table-setter and run producer. Jackson projects as a well-rounded player with a skill set that will continue to sharpen with reps. The combination of bat speed, defensive ability, and athleticism makes McRae a strong prospect to follow this fall.

Gage McRae, C, 2027, Mount Gilead (NC)
Uncommitted. McRae shows an athletic frame at 6-foot-2 with room to add more strength as he develops. His build suggests the potential for increased power at the plate and durability in the field. His movements behind the dish are fluid, displaying coordination that translates well to both offense and defense. At the plate, McRae demonstrates a confident approach with balance and rhythm. His swing path is direct to the ball with quick hands, allowing him to generate consistent line-drive contact. When he stays through the middle of the field, he shows the ability to drive the baseball with authority. Developing gap-to-gap power projects him as a hitter who can impact the game in multiple ways.

Taylor Casson, RHP, 2027, Landmark Christian
Uncommitted. Taylor Casson delivered one of the most electric performances of the weekend, striking out nine across three no-hit innings in his Saturday night start for East Cobb Astros ST. At 6-foot-4 with an athletic, agile frame, he moves efficiently down the mound with fluid arm speed and mechanics. Casson leaned on a fastball/slider mix, attacking the zone and generating consistent whiffs. His fastball sat 89–92 mph with two distinct looks: a traditional four-seam showing late ride, and an offset variation with run/ride traits and heavy arm-side life that gave the opposing right-handed-heavy lineup fits. He paired it with a mid-70s slider featuring sharp downward action and depth, a pitch he often turned to in two-strike counts to finish hitters. There’s a lot to like here with Casson, who remains one of the top uncommitted players in the 2026 class.

Jake Beard, 1B/RHP, 2026, North Hall
Uncommitted. It was an impressive all-around weekend for Jake Beard, who strung together consistently loud at-bats across all three games. The 6-foot-4 right-handed hitter offers an ultra-physical presence in the box, pairing long levers with a subtle toe tap to stay on time. Among his loudest swings were a 104.7 EV lineout on Sunday and a 91 EV barrel on Saturday that resulted in a deep fly ball just shy of leaving the yard. He also runs well for his size and shows solid defensive awareness, with the versatility to handle first base and both corner outfield spots effectively. With his physical tools and ability to impact the game on both sides, Beard continues to trend as one of the more intriguing uncommitted bats in the 2026 class.

Santos Wade, SS, 2026, Homeschool
USF commit. Santos Wade has earned the recent coverage he’s received, as he continues to develop and take his craft to the next level. At the plate, he shows a calm, simple setup paired with outstanding bat speed and the ability to drive the baseball to all fields. He generates tension with separation and upper-body torque, helping him create consistently hard contact. Wade maintains excellent balance through the zone, utilizing his lower half effectively while demonstrating an advanced feel for the barrel. Santos can pick it at shortstop too, displaying soft hands, quick lateral actions, and a strong, projectable arm that allows him to cover ground efficiently. Even in a deep Devine lineup, Santos consistently separates himself and makes a noticeable impact every time he steps on the field.

Tripp Ellison, OF, 2026, Calvary Christian
Uncommitted. Another standout from the weekend was Tripp Ellison of Advanced Baseball Academy South, who brings a well-rounded profile with impact both at the plate and in the outfield. He fits the mold of a prototypical leadoff hitter, showing patience, advanced strike-zone awareness, and the ability to work counts while remaining selectively aggressive. At the plate, he shows poise with quick hands and advanced bat-to-ball skills, highlighted by several impressive swings this weekend, including a 94.3 EV barrel on Saturday night. He followed that with a well-executed bunt down the third-base line, creating opportunities for his offense to generate runs. Ellison is also a strong runner both on the bases and in the outfield, showing excellent in-game instincts.

Jenker Romero, RHP, 2026, Georgia Premier
After a weather shortened look last week, we were lucky enough to get an extended outing this weekend from the Oklahoma commit, and it's easy to see why the stock continues to rise. An athletic 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame with wiry strength throughout with excellent scap retraction that screams future velo down the road. Whippy arm speed from a higher, near over-the-top slot adds deception with advanced ability to repeat. Fastball sat 90-92 in the outing, running it up to 93 multiple times with distinct cut/ride action that was creating a ton of swing-and-miss at the top of the zone. Romero would show two distinct breaking balls in this look, holding hitters off balance throughout with both. Slider is tight with late horizontal at 80-83 while showing feel to land on the inner half to both sides of the plate whenever he needed. Curveball was freezing hitters at 73-76 with loopy shape and ability to create significant depth. There’s still plenty to tap into for Romero and that bodes extremely well for what looks like a huge senior year on deck.

Wessley Roberson, OF, 2026, Glynn Academy
The LSU commit is always ready to hit when he steps into the box and it showed throughout a very strong performance across the weekend. Swing looks as good as we’ve seen with great balance and barrel accuracy from the left-side. Hands stay compact with great lag in-zone backed with significant bat speed. Showed ability to hammer both velocity and spin as he turned around 90+ multiple times as well as catching spin out front with leverage to drive balls to the pull-side. Impact defender both in CF and 3B where the top-of-the-class arm strength shows up frequently. It's a potent profile for Roberson and looks poised to have an explosive senior campaign for the Terror Pack.

Drew Payne, RHP, 2026, Prince Ave Christian
Payne has been quietly shoving all summer and comes out for his first outing of the fall after an Appalachian State commitment looking dominant. 5 strikeouts over 4.0 no-hit innings while inducing soft contact throughout. Fastball sat 90-93 throughout with feel to spin (2400+ RPM) and carry through the zone. Induced in-zone misses to both sides of the plate and still has a chance to throw even harder down. Started to mix in a cutter in the high-80s that pairs well with the curveball at 76-78 that shows sharp bite and above-average command. Payne rounds out the mix with the low-to-mid 80s changeup that tunnels well off the fastball with some late fade and present feel. It’s a starter’s mix in a durable 5-foot-11, 205-pound that should have a chance to compete early at the next level.
