The Florida State Games took place on September 13-14 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. The event featured players from the 2026-2029 classes participating in a pro-style workout followed by one game on day one, then two more games on day two in front of the Prep Baseball Florida Scouting Staff.

Today, we reveal our Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Pitcher from the 2025 Florida State Games. These players were awarded Oakley sunglasses, a Mizuno duffle bag, and a gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods.

MVP

Connor Balazic C / 3B / Creekside, FL / 2027

Balazic was awarded the MVP of the 2025 Florida State Games after an outstanding showing at the event, both during the showcase and during games. During the showcase, Balazic ran a 6.88 60 while jumping 24.2 inches in the vertical. Defensively, he had an 83 mph catcher velocity and a 1.86 top pop time. Offensively, Balazic had a 99 mph max exit velocity, averaging 96.8 mph and an average bat speed of 78.1 mph. During his three games, Balazic went 2-4 with a 1B, BB, and a towering home run in his final game.

MV-Pitcher

RJ Shields RHP / OF / Venice High, FL / 2027

Shields won the MV-Pitcher of the 2025 Florida State Games as he pitched in the last game of the event and was lights out. He sat 92-94 in two innings of work, where he struck out six hitters and only allowed one baserunner.
