Summer Update Missouri Uncommitted Spotlight: 2027 Third Basemen

Prep Baseball Missouri Staff

With the release of the latest update to our state rankings for the 2027 class, it’s a great time to take a closer look at some of the top uncommitted prospects in the class. Only a few months have passed since recruiting restrictions were lifted on the 2027s as they began their junior years, so there are numerous big names left on the board. Over the next few days, our staff will highlight five of the top prospects at each position, with a short breakdown of each athlete. First, we'll look at the state's top five uncommitted third basemen in the class.

Brady Yates 3B / RHP / Glendale, MO / 2027

Yates has solidified himself as a legitimate two-way prospect at the next level, with impressive numbers both on the mound and in the batters box. Focusing on his tools as a position player, there is plenty of present power to find himself in the middle of a lineup for years to come, with a max exit velocity of 101.7 mph.

Max Partney 3B / 1B / Hillsboro, MO / 2027

Partney is one of the best left-handed power bats in the state. An agressive swing and plenty of raw strength have helped Partney put together some loud rounds of BP, with exit velocities nearing triple digits. The strength carries over well on defense as well, as he's been gunned at up to 87 mph.

Cameron Crumble 3B / RHP / Pattonville, MO / 2027

Although it's been a few years since we've gotten to see Crumble in a showcase setting to get updated metrics, you don't need exact numbers to see the tools are all there seeing him on the field in game. Crumble will look to parlay a solid summer season into a big junior year this spring.

John Schmitt 3B / RHP / Lee's Summit North, MO / 2027

Schmitt is a great athlete with some nice upside as he continues to add some more strength to a good set of present tools. At the plate, we've had his exit velocity up to 96.5 mph. He's also displayed solid speed, clocking a 60 time of 7.04.

Trenton Rosenthal 3B / RHP / Marshfield High, MO / 2027

Rosenthal is another high upside prospect, that could see his numbers take a jump as he adds strength to his long frame. That's not to say there aren't some present tools to like, in particular he's displayed some present power, with exit velocities into the mid 90s.
