Rising Stars on the Radar: 2028 RHP Ben Hinderberger (Council Rock North)
September 19, 2025
Wiry and electricity are two descriptors that fit Hinderberger perfectly. On a loaded Team Pennsylvania at the East Coast Super Sophomore Games, Hinderberger’s performance on the mound stood out.
He is a lean and ultra wiry 5 ‘11 and 164-pound. When on the mound, his extension is right around average at 5.5 feet, and his release height is a lower slot at 4.1 feet on average. This release height allows his fastball to have success up in the zone while not having the typical spin for an elevated fastball. He is a two-pitch pitcher with a fastball that jumps out of his hand and a slider that has the potential to be a very good pitch. His fastball is typically 84-87 and tops 88 mph while his slider is 74-77 mph with the shape of a sweeper. While at the ECSSG his fastball was jumping past hitters, they were starting their swing while the catcher was catching the pitch. He collected over a dozen whiffs on his fastball in his 2 innings of work. His late and quick arm acceleration are key contributors to the deception on his fastball.
Overall, Hinderberger is a very fun arm talent to watch and will continue to develop into one of the Keystone State’s premiere arm talents.
