Texas State Games Upperclass: Position Player Quick Hits

On Saturday, September 19th, the PB Texas staff traveled to Weatherford College in Weatherford, TX, to host the Texas State Games: Upperclass, an invite-only event for the class of 2026 and 2027.
More than 100 players made their way to Weatherford College this past weekend and participated in a pro-style workout as well as gameplay, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, while receiving in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.
We have already begun releasing statistical leaderboards from the event, and today we will continue our post-event rollout with our scouting takeaways on some of the event's top position players.

Smooth defender with clean actions and solid footwork. Ran a 6.93 60. Consistent barrel contact with flashes of pull-side power, which should increase as he adds strength. Quality ABs in game play with multiple hard-hit balls.
Elijah Webber | LHP/1B | Boyd | 2026 | 6’3” 215 | L/R | Richmond Commit
Strong build with room for added strength. Left-handed hitter with an aggressive, damage-oriented approach. Produced multiple hard-hit balls in game play, including two doubles to the pull side, and posted BP exit velos over 100 mph. Defensively moves well around the bag with reliable hands. Presently more advanced on the mound, but the bat continues to show impact potential.
Ryan Steele | CF | Victoria East | 2026 | 6’0” 198 | R/R
Athletic with a great frame and strength projection. Well above-average runner with a 6.55 60 and strong base-stealing potential. Covers ground in CF with carry on throws. Aggressive swinger who produces loud contact, topping at 101 mph exit velocity. Exciting athlete with tools across the board.
Caden Hoff | MIF | Fulshear | 2026 | 5’9” 160 | R/R
Compact, athletic build with strength to come. Ran a 6.77 60 with quickness to start, adding value on the bases. Developing infield actions with versatility across the diamond. Shows solid bat speed and some pull-side power. Posted a 100 mph LO8 and stole multiple bases in game play, highlighting his speed/impact combo.
Tyler King | CF | Liberty Christian | 2027 | 6’3” 191 | R/R | Texas State Commit
Physically projectable frame with present athleticism. Plus runner with a 6.49 60, quickness to start, and base-stealing ability. Solid defender with range in CF and developing arm strength. Offensively shows bat/hand speed with raw power to the pull side. High-upside athlete with tools that project well at the next level.
Truett Allen | 3B/OF | Second Baptist | 2027 | 6’2” 205 | R/R
Strong build with present power and room to add more. Has previously run a 6.89 60 and moves well. Solid defender at 3B with plus raw arm strength and versatility for the corner OF. Top exit velo of 103.7 in BP. Though inconsistent in-game, when synced up he barreled balls hard, including a 105 mph single to CF. Bat/power profile projects well with defensive flexibility.
Layton Murrell | C | Springtown | 2027 | 6’1” 204 | R/R
Strong, physical build with noticeable development over the past year. Received well overall, despite some twilight struggles with pitcher command. Flashed raw arm strength with multiple 1.92 pop times. Offensively showed above 100 mph exit velos in BP and quality ABs in games. Makeup and attention to detail stood out, doing the small things coaches value.

Compact build with room to add strength. Quick release with developing arm strength, posting a 2.00 pop time in game and throwing out a runner at 3B. Received well throughout. Offensively produced line-drive contact with a top exit velo of 102 mph, including a 100 mph single in game play. Solid young catcher with upside.
Braden Durrett | C/1B | Ridge Point | 2027 | 6’3” 181 | R/R
Projectable frame with present ability. Received well behind the plate with a 1.99 in-game CS. Workout pop times ranged 1.94–2.04 with quickness to release. Offensively produced multiple singles to LF with a balanced hit approach. Projection remains as strength continues to come.
Jake Shoemaker | OF | Cedar Ridge | 2027 | 5’11” 195 | L/R
Strong, compact frame with room to grow. Corner OF with carry to throws and a 6.88 60. Impact BP round with multiple loud barrels, topping at 104.5 mph exit velo. In-game showed feel for the barrel with a pair of singles to RF, including one at 100 mph. Offense-first profile with power potential.
Andrew Alvarado | 1B/RHP | Victoria East | 2027 | 5’10” 187 | L/R
Solid defender at 1B with clean footwork and hands. Strong, line-drive contact approach with consistent AB quality. Bat speed present, showing ability to use all fields. Offense plays more hit over power at present but steady defender who gives quality at-bats.
Jayden Moeller | SS | Keller | 2027 | 5’11” 170 | R/R
Athletic SS with instincts and ability to make plays on the move. Arm strength projects to be a plus tool with carry now. Aggressive hitter who stays through the middle of the field, with hit-over-power profile. Left the yard to pull side in game play and tallied three hits including a double and HR. Athletic defender who stays at SS long term.
Carson Roy | OF | Rock Hill | 2027 | 5’11” 168 | R/R
Athletic outfielder with speed and developing strength. Ran a 6.90 60. Shows plus hand speed and bat speed with the ability to drive the baseball out of the park. Solid defender with improving arm strength. Collected multiple hits in game play, including a triple to the wall in dead-center.
Cooper Newby | C | Southlake Carroll | 2027 | 6’1” 188 | S/R
Projectable catcher’s frame with room to strengthen. Ran a 7.03 60 and posted a 4.4 down the line in game play. Solid receiver with ability to handle various arms. Workout pop times 1.90–1.96 with quickness to release and arm strength present. Switch hitter with balanced approach and quality ABs from both sides.
Preston Lewis | C/1B | Rockwall-Heath | 2026 | 5’10” 235 | R/R
Thick, strong build with power strength. Received well, handling multiple pitchers. Workout pop times 1.95–2.01, 2.09 in game. Offensively put together quality ABs, including two doubles (94 mph to RCF and 104 mph to LCF). Confident hitter with strength-driven profile.

Parker George | CF | Buda Johnson | 2027 | 6’1” 155 | R/R
Lean, athletic build with projection. Plus runner at 6.69 with quickness, steady defender in CF with range. Offensively shows line-drive approach with ability to impact. In game play collected three hits including a HR to pull side. Tools present with significant upside as strength develops.
Gannon Plummer | CF | Buda Johnson | 2026 | 6’1” 172 | S/L
Athletic build with projection. Plus runner at 6.60 with range and quickness in the OF. Switch hitter with a compact, line-drive stroke and consistent AB quality. Collected multiple hits in game play including a double to LCF. Projects as a top-of-the-order bat with speed and hit ability.
Ryan Kume | MIF | Hays | 2027 | 6’0” 161 | R/R
Lean, athletic build with projection. Ran a 6.74 60 with quickness to start. Defensively showed smooth actions with developing arm strength. Offensively has a line-drive contact approach, collecting multiple hits to RF with strong zone discipline (2 BBs). Speed and future strength will determine ceiling.
Oliver Minyard | C | Woodrow Wilson | 2026 | 6’0” 182 | R/R
Strong build with a catcher’s frame. Received firm in games with consistent pop times (1.87–2.00 in workout, 1.99 in game). Offensively showed patience with contact skills, producing a hard-hit single to RF. Developing approach with more consistency to come.
Clayton Crosby | OF | The Bennett School | 2026 | L/L
Athletic frame with strength projection. Ran a 6.93 60. Versatile defender capable of handling all three OF spots. Offensively showed pull-side power with consistent contact in BP and in games, including multiple well-hit balls and 2 walks. Quality body and upside as he continues to add strength.
Andrew Humphries | C | Ryan | 2027 | 5’10” 205 | R/R
Thick build with strength and durability for the position. Consistently accurate catch-and-throw with pop times of 1.94–1.97 in workouts and 2.01 in game. Offensively showed a hit-over-power profile with quality ABs and multiple in-game hits. Confident player who knows his game.
Jett Vindiola | C | Weatherford | 2026 | 6’3” 205 | L/R | Kansas State Commit
Strong, projectable frame with athleticism and room to add more strength. Moves well behind the plate, has previously run a 6.88 60, and shows mobility to block and keep the ball in front. Displays raw arm strength with workout pop times ranging 1.84–1.96, and a 1.93 in-game CS throw on target. At the plate, produced a 103.7 mph top exit velo in BP and tallied three hits in games, including a 98 mph double to RCF off a slider. Offense shows impact potential with opportunities for refinement in the swing. High-upside commit for Kansas State and a legitimate pro prospect — worth following closely in the spring depending on his interest in pro ball and signability.
Christian Hamilton | INF/OF | Manvel | 2026 | 6’0” 160 | R/R
Lean frame with room to add strength. Ran a 7.00 60. Defensively offers versatility between infield and corner OF with carry on throws. Offensively shows plus bat speed with lift in swing and pull-side power projection. Found barrels in game play, including a pull-side HR. Approach can tighten with more line-drive contact, but tools to develop are present.
