The 9th Annual Prep Baseball Florida Preseason Classic once again delivered one of the strongest early-season looks at talent in the state. With a deep mix of nationally ranked prospects, high-end uncommitted underclassmen, and proven upperclass performers, this event has become a reliable barometer for what the spring will look like across Florida.

Below, a look at some of the players and prospects who made an impact on Prep Baseball’s Vice President of Scouting, Shooter Hunt:

Position Player Spotlights:

Cy Chrisman 1B / 3B / IMG Academy, FL / 2026

Chrisman introduced himself to the Florida scouting community with an impressive look over two games at the Preseason Classic. The Utah native is impossible to miss on the diamond with a hulking 6-foot-4, 215-pound frame, and moves around nimbly with semi-fluidity to the athleticism, especially at the plate. The right-handed hitter belted multiple balls over 100 mph including his first at-bat of the event, a 112 mph single before trying to clear the center field batter’s eye, against a stiff wind, in his next two at-bats. Setting up in an athletic crouch, the hands take a quick, waterfall-load with a minor leg lift stride. Strong through the zone while looking as if he is swinging a club, the heaviness of the barrel and impact ability stood out all week, and his balance seems to hint at a higher likelihood of continuing to hit at higher levels. Playing third base for the Ascenders, Chrisman showed off near average defensive traits, though the carrying tool of the bat makes first base a viable option.
