PBT Rock Fall Open: Takeaways

Last weekend, our staff hosted the final event on our Rock fall calender with The Rock Fall Open. There were over 30 teams in attendance with a couple states represented and plenty of talent to go around. Today, we wanted to take some time to highlight some of our staff’s favorite players from the weekend, found below.
Upper
+ Milwaukee Area Tech commit C Devin Arbour (Bishop McNamara 2026) showed well on the week with a short, compact swing with strength, producing two hits and an RBI in three at-bats Saturday.
+ LHP Charlie Rassmussen (Glenbrook South 2026) had one of the cleanest outings of the weekend. Working through three innings, Charlie punched out seven while only surrendering two hits and two earned run, walking none. Standing in at an athletic 6-2, 190-frame, Charlie worked down the mound with a cross body stride that would give a deceptive look for hitters. While his fastball velo was 78-80 mph, he tunneled it well with his big curveball at 66-67 mph and was very good at keeping hitters off balance.
+ A recent standout at the ESP Scout Day, 1B/OF Greyson Alesia (Hinsdale Central, 2027) would continue to show an intriguing toolset that makes him a must follow within Illinois' 2027 class. Finished the weekend 3-for-7 with a home run, an RBI, a walk, and a hit-by-pitch. Showed a quality left-handed swing with a direct bat path, developing bat speed, line-drive intent, and pull-side tendencies. Spent time both at right field and first base, showing present baseball acumen that consistently played up. On the grass, Alesia took confident routes while showing some present foot speed that produced a 6.95-second 60-yard dash in early September. On the dirt, the Hinsdale Central product showed advanced defensive actions, with a workhouse-esque presence at the cold corner. Wiry 6-foot-3, 160-pound frame with present athleticism and room to add.
+ Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 67 in Wisconsin. Physical 6-foot-4, 230-pound frame. RHP/1B Derrik Beckstrand (Elkhorn, 2027) had one of the top performances of the weekend on Sunday as he struck out seven batters through five shutout innings. The right-hander operates from a simple, controlled delivery with a high leg lift while having a tall/fall approach. Loose, full arm action from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 84-86 mph with arm-side run. Beckstrand mixed in a slider that sat 71-73 mph with late actions. He also flashed an upper-70s changeup. Beckstrand also impressed at the plate, where he swatted multiple extra-base hits on Sunday.
+ RHP Nick Brennan (Oswego East, 2026) would make maybe the most impressive pitching appearance of the weekend after getting the Friday night start for his ESP Select squad. Ultimately, would collect 12 strikeouts across five innings of work while sporting a 65.8% strike rate. The fastball would sit in the low-80s and was paired with a mid-to-low-70s breaking ball. Worked from an over-the-top slot, offering a deceptive angle for opposing hitters. Athletic 6-foot-1, 170-pound frame. Uncommitted senior to follow within the state of Illinois.
+ Highland CC commit, OF Nicholas Firle (Franklin, 2026) would show a quality left-handed stroke throughout the weekend with a present feel for the barrel that stood out for our staff. In setup, he presents a wide, balanced base, sitting into his lower half while utilizing a short stride to get into a position of launch. A hitterish presence at the plate, showed a strong barrel, present bat speed, and line-drive, whole field intent. Twitchy 5-foot-9, 160-pound frame with wiry strength that plays up. Name to follow as he enters his senior season and the junior college ranks next fall.
+ An attendee of the Future Games in July, OF Carter Fry (Wisconsin Lutheran, 2027) would continue to show a twitchy profile in front of our staff. Offering a top echelon run tool (6.44-second 60-yard dash at past events), Fry's foot speed was an asset in center field throughout the weekend, with rangy actions, fluid routes, and developing reads. At the plate showed a developing right-handed swing with loose, twitchy hands, a direct bat path, & simple trigger. An aggressive approach, Fry was on the barrel multiple times throughout the weekend with a strong barrel. Developing 5-foot-11, 155-pound frame with present athleticism, room to add, and some present wiry strength.
+ RHP/OF Elijah Gammage (New Berlin West, 2026) is an uncommitted name to know in the Wisconsin ranks, currently ranked No. 30. Strong 6-foot-2, 190-pound athletic frame. Gammage struck out five batters through four innings in the championship game on Sunday. The right-hander operates from a stretch-only delivery with a high leg lift while having a tall/fall approach. Long, loose arm action from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 85-87 mph with straight actions. Gammage mixed in his slider that sat 73-76 mph with sharp actions.
+ MIF Jace Garcia (Huntley, 2027) was a hit machine throughout the weekend, showcasing a present feel for the barrel that finished the weekend 9-for-12 thanks to a line-drive oriented right-handed swing. Showed a quiet presence in the box with an effective gap-to-gap approach. Compact 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame with some present athleticism and strength.
+ SS Grant Guderski (Fond du Lac, 2027) would show a quality up-the-middle profile throughout the weekend. At the plate showed a line-drive oriented right-handed stroke with a direct bat path and developing feel for the barrel. Defensively showed developing footwork and confident hands. Wiry 6-foot, 160-pound frame with room to add. Name to follow within Wisconsin's 2027 class.
+ Playing up with the upperclassman, the No. 14th-ranked player in Wisconsin's 2028 class, MIF Tate Hagen (Lake Country Lutheran, 2029) would go 1-for-3 with two runs scored during Halos Upperclass' Saturday evening matchup. At the plate showed a simple right-handed swing with line-drive intent and some present feel for the barrel. Developing 5-foot-11, 155-pound frame with present athleticism and room to add.
+ Indiana Wesleyan commit, RHP Theo Kellogg (Libertyville, 2027) , would make a loud appearance on the mound Friday night. Worked off an upper-80s fastball that would get up to 90 mph and was thrown alongside an 83-85 mph cutter & upper-70s splitter. Mechanically, showed a simple, segmented delivery while utilizing a high leg lift and coil to explode down the mound with intent, working from a 3/4s slot with a full arm circle and present arm speed. Showed sporadic command, with flashes of effective wildness - 5-foot-11, 216-pound frame.
+ C/1B David Klein (Nazareth, 2026) would show a strong right-handed bat throughout the weekend. A direct bat path with bat speed and some present feel for the barrel, the Nazareth backstop should be a name to follow for college evaluators as he enters his senior season for the Roadrunners. Strong 6-foot-2, 215-pound frame.
+ INF Gavin Lustig (Oswego, 2027) would showcase an intriguing right-handed swing throughout the weekend, showing a strong barrel, a loft-based approach, and some present feel for the barrel. Well-proportioned 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame with some present strength and athleticism.
+ Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 52 in Wisconsin. Wiry 6-foot-5, 178-pound frame. LHP Bryce Mischler (Kimberly, 2027) had an impressive outing on Sunday as he struck out four batters through 1.2 innings. The Future Games alum has a simple delivery with a high leg lift while having a tall/fall approach. Loose, full arm action from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 82-85 mph with arm-side run. Mischler showed a slider that sat 72-75 mph with 10/4 shape and depth. Mischler is a name to keep an eye on as he continues to add velo.
+ RHP/SS Colton Multerer (West Bend East, 2027) was a two-way winner from the weekend, showing an impact right-handed swing and quality actions on the mound. A right-handed arm, Multerer would work off an 82-84 mph fastball that was thrown alongside a breaking ball and an off-speed offering, both of which played in the mid-70s. At the plate, he showcased a loft-based right-handed swing. Presenting a balanced base with a simple trigger, Multerer consistently got into a position to hit with a direct, slightly uphill bat path that played up thanks to some present bat speed. Finished the weekend 3-for-8 with a double, a home run, four RBIs, two runs scored, and a walk. Athletic 6-foot-3, 162-pound frame with room to add.
+ RHP Finley Pearson (South Milwaukee, 2027) would get the Friday night start for the eventual Upperclass champions, Halos Upperclass, and would show a quality two-pitch mix throughout. The fastball would sit in the 81-84 mph range and was paired with a low-70s curveball. 6-foot-2, 285-pound frame.
+ RHP Aksel Pocernich (Slinger, 2027) would have a solid relief outing on Saturday, throwing one and two-thirds innings while collecting three strikeouts. The fastball would get up to 83 mph and was thrown alongside a 68-72 mph curveball. Presenting a projectable 6-foot-3, 150-pound with levers and room to add, Pocernich is a must-follow for collegiate evaluators as he continues to physically develop.
+ RHP Cruz Ramirez (Muskego, 2026) would get the Saturday evening start and would ultimately collect 10 strikeouts across six innings of work. A strike thrower by trade, the Muskego product showed a fastball in the low-80s and a mid-to-lows breaking ball that he flashed advanced feel for throughout his outing. An athletic move, Ramirez showed controlled momentum down the mound and an in-line finish that would ultimately result in a 67.4% strike rate. Worked from a high 3/4s slot while flashing some present arm speed. Compact 5-foot-8, 159-pound frame.
+ The No. 1-ranked player in Wisconsin’s 2027 class, 3B Kyle Rogosienski (Muskego, 2027) , would make an appearance for the Halos Upperclass squad during their Saturday evening game, finishing 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a hit-by-pitch. At the plate showed an impact left-handed stroke with a controlled, natural load & short, quick hands. Showed an aggressive approach to pair with line-drive intent and barrel strength that has consistently played up in front of our staff. Defensively showed well at the hot corner with athletic actions, fluid footwork, and advanced arm strength. Twitchy 6-foot, 172-pound with top echelon athleticism.
+ 1B Miles Sanders (Brother Rice, 2027) is a name that has impressed our staff in multiple tournaments this fall. The strong 6-foot-3, 215-pound first baseman had multiple home runs on Sunday. The right-handed hitter operates from an upright stance with a small leg lift. Strong hands with a pull-side approach. The first baseman has been consistently on the barrel throughout our past two tournaments and looks to be a name to keep an eye on.
+ 1B Taron Seghers (Kaukauna, 2027) would show a quality right-handed swing throughout the weekend, ultimately finishing the tournament 6-for-9 with a home run, five RBIs, and three runs scored. Presenting a balanced base and short stride, Seghers consistently got into a position to hit with a direct bat path and strong hands, while showing a present feel for the barrel. Strong 6-foot-2, 210-pound frame. Name to follow for college evaluators looking for a corner bat in the senior class.
+ SS Mason Sturma (Waterford, 2027) was one of the biggest winners from the weekend after showing impact tools both at the plate and on the dirt. Defensively, showed athletic defensive actions with fluid footwork and confident hands. Acted as a fundamentally sound, up-the-middle presence for the eventual Upperclass champions, Halos Upperclass. With developing foot speed and lateral agility, Sturma offers an intriguing profile for college evaluators, who at the very least would be getting a quality presence on the dirt with evident instincts that consistently play up in game. At the plate, he showcased a simple right-handed swing with bat speed and strong hands. Showed a present feel for the barrel throughout the weekend with pull-side tendencies and a present feel for the barrel. Wiry 5-foot-11, 143-pound frame with room to add.
+ OF Tyler Toye (Hononegah, 2026) was on the barrel throughout the weekend with a quality right-handed swing, emerging as an uncommitted senior bat to follow within Illinois. Presenting an upright setup with some pre-pitch rhythm, Toye gets into a position of launch with a flatter bat path via a higher, aggressive leg kick. 5-foot-10, 190-pound frame with some present strength.
+ RHP Lucas Weber (Whitnall, 2027) would make a short appearance during Saturday's evening gameplay, ultimately collecting two outs, both via the strikeout, while showing a quality two-pitch mix. The fastball would sit in 83-86 mph and was thrown alongside an advanced mid-70s breaking ball that has been up to 2796 rpm at past events. Compact 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame.
+ MIF Ethan Woller (Elkhorn, 2027) would act as an offensive presence for the eventual Upperclass champions, Halos Upperclass. Presented an impact right-handed bat with line-drive intent, a direct bat path, and some present feel for the barrel. Defensively showed quality actions at the keystone with confident footwork and hands that played up throughout the weekend. Athletic 5-foot-9, 147-pound frame with room to add.

+ SS Sean Allen (Sheboygan North, 2028) would emerge as a must-follow within Wisconsin's 2028 class after showing a raw toolset that should only continue to get better. At the plate, he showcased an impact right-handed bat. In setup, presents an upright base, getting into a position of launch with a direct bat path via a higher leg kick. Would also show present foot speed that played up on the bases throughout gameplay. Well-proportioned frame with present strength and athleticism.
+ C John Artinghelli (Huntley, 2028) was arguably the biggest winner in the Underclass division, offering impact tools on both sides of the ball for the eventual champions, Dynamite Baseball. At the plate, he showcased a quality left-handed stroke, offering a higher leg kick and a controlled, balanced swing that consistently got him in a position to hit with a slightly uphill bat path. Defensively, showed impact tools with soft hands, present feel for blocking, and advanced instincts that consistently played up. Athletic frame with room to add.
+ A winner at the Last Chance Summer ID in August, C Hayven Gamboa (Mount Carmel, 2028) would continue to show a refined defensive toolset (now in gameplay). The backstop would show soft, confident hands & quick transfers, acting as a defensive asset throughout gameplay. Has produced pop times as low as 1.94 seconds at past events. At the plate, he showcased a developing right-handed swing with some present rhythm and line-drive intent. Developing 5-foot-9, 138-pound frame with present athleticism and room to add.
+ OF Andre Gordon (St. Rita, 2028) was one of the biggest winners of the weekend, showcasing impact tools on both sides of the ball. At the plate, he showcased an athletic left-handed swing with a fluid trigger and quick hands. A quiet, confident presence in the box, Gordon showed a line-drive oriented approach with feel to hit to all fields. Defensively showed quality instincts in center field with confident reads and routes. Wiry 5-foot-10, 145-pound frame with room to add.
+ SS Marcus Jackson (Rich Township, 2028) would show a developing up-the-middle profile, ultimately emerging as a name to follow within Illinois' 2028 class. An athletic defender at shortstop, Gordon showed confident footwork and hands. At the plate, he showed a developing right-handed swing with a simple operation and some present feel for the barrel. Athletic 5-foot-10, 140-pound frame with room to add.
+ 1B Beckett McGovern (Lake Zurich, 2029) impressed our staff this weekend and went out with a bang as he connected on a triple in his final game on Sunday. McGovern has a developing frame with room to add strength. The left-handed hitter operates from a tall stance with a small stride. Pure swing with strong hands while having a whole field approach.
+ INF Givon Storkson (Stoughton, 2028) would emerge as a name to follow within Wisconsin's 2028 class after showcasing a strong right-handed bat throughout the weekend. In setup, he presents a wide base, getting into a position of launch with a flatter bat path via a higher, aggressive leg kick. Flashed bat speed and some present feel for the barrel. Strong frame.
+ OF/RHP Saxton Wiest (Stoughton, 2028) would emerge as a two-way name to follow within Wisconsin's 2028 class after showcasing gamer traits that translated into in-game impact on the mound and at the plate. The right-handed hitter presented an athletic swing with a simple trigger, consistently getting into a position to hit with bat speed and strong hands. On the mound got the Friday night start, ultimately collecting 10 strikeouts across five innings of work. Showed a fastball up to 80 mph and a curveball that would sit in the 69-71 mph range. Worked from a whippy low-3/4s slot with a full arm circle that consistently caused deception to opposing hitters. 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame with room to add.
+ RHP Levi Yngsdal (Sauk Prairie, 2028) had a short outing on Sunday, however, he had enough time to impress as he showcased an impressive two-pitch mix. Athletic 5-foot-10, 154-pound frame with room to add strength. The right-hander operates from a simple, controlled delivery with a high leg lift. Long, loose arm action from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 79-81 mph with straight actions. He mixed in a curveball that sat 66-67 mph with 11/5 shape and depth.
