Ventura, Calif. - As the entirety of the of the California High School sections are fully underway including the Northern sections all playing games Prep Baseball California will be highlighting a weekly game of the week.

This weeks match up from NorCal Sac-Joaquin Section Game of the Week features a matchup between a pair of Sierra Foothill League title contenders in the Rocklin Thunder facing off with the Whitney Wildcats in a 3 game set.

Game Preview:  Both programs are battling at the top of the Sierra Foothill League sitting in first and second place. Rocklin has a lineup that has plated 123 runs in 22 games for 5.6 runs per game while Whitney is on an identical pace with 117 runs in 21 games for 5.6 runs per game. The Thunder has a pitching staff which has allowed 77 runs over those 22 games slightly over 3 runs per game and the Wildcats have allowed just 67 in their 21 games. Offensively, Rocklin has 5 regulars hitting over .300 on the season with 2 of those starters over .400 lead by '25 Nusz at .489 while his fellow '25 Brennan is at .435, '24 Baird leads the HR threat for the Thunder with 3, while '25 Pudge has stolen 9 bases. On the mound the strong staff is fronted by a trio of arms having very strong seasons with Panteloglow leading the team in innings at 35 while punching out 39 followed by Cuthill at 31 innings with 37 punchouts and Lorenzini with 23 innings and 36 punchouts on the spring. For Whitney they have 4 regulars coming into the game over .300 with a pair over .400 being lead by '24 Rogowski at .483 with 6 doubles and 2 triples while '24 Gimenez is close behind with .463 while crushing 7 doubles, 3 triples and 3 home runs with both Rogowski and Gimenez being steady run producers. The Wildcats has a trio of workhorse arms who are performing at a high level with '25 Warner at the front with 44.2 innings pitche at 33 Ks and followed up by the future Texas Longhorn Pettey at 37 innings with 48 punchouts while '25 Estes is at 32 innings pitched striking out 45 hitters.
