Ventura, Calif. - As the entirety of the of the California High School sections are fully underway including the Northern sections all playing games Prep Baseball California will be highlighting a weekly game of the week.

This weeks match up from NorCal Sac-Joaquin Section Game of the Week features a matchup between a pair of Sierra Foothill League title contenders in the Rocklin Thunder facing off for the second week in a row with the second place team in the league in the Granite Bay Grizzlies.

Game Preview:  Both programs are battling at the top of the Sierra Foothill League sitting in first and second place. Rocklin has a lineup that has plated 138 runs in 25 games for 5.5 runs per game while Granite Bay is on a slightly higher pace with 154 runs in 25 games for 6.2 runs per game. The Thunder has a pitching staff which has allowed 92 runs over those 25 games slightly under 4 runs per game and the Grizzlies have allowed 100 in their 25 games. Offensively, Rocklin has 5 regulars hitting over .300 on the season with 2 of those starters over .400 lead by '25 Nusz at .436 while his fellow '25 Brennan is at .421, '24 Baird leads the HR threat for the Thunder with 3, while '25 Pudge has stolen 9 bases. On the mound the strong staff is fronted by a trio of arms having very strong seasons with Panteloglow leading the team in innings at 40 while punching out 41 followed by Cuthill at 35 innings with 38 punchouts and Lorenzini with 25 innings and 41 punchouts on the spring. For Granite Bay they have 5 regulars coming into the game over .300 lead by '24 Radler at .382 with 1 double, 1 triple and a home run with '25 Bentley leading the team at 24 RBIs. The Grizzlies has a trio of workhorse arms who are performing at a high level with '25 Bentley performing to a 35 innings pitched and 48 Ks along with '24 Ghufran at 44 innings with 4 wins  while '25 Jennings is at 33.1 innings pitched striking out 40 hitters.
