Paul VI

Carter Perdue RHP / 3B / Paul VI, VA / 2026

 

 

Aiden Gallagher C / 1B / Paul VI, VA / 2026

 

 

Buckingham

Justin Gunter RHP / 3B / Buckingham, VA / 2024

 

 

Avery Schaeffer 3B / Buckingham, VA / 2025

Stronger, durable frame. Filled out with some proportional strength. Sqaure stance, shorter to contact, and level path through the zone.

 

 

Ethan Walter OF / 2B / Buckingham County, VA / 2025

Lean and athletic frame with some length. Moved really well in center in pregame with some solid arm strength and carry. Ambushed a fastball in his first at bat for a triple. Like the lean strength, athleticism, and positional versatility. 

 

 

Cosby

Blake LaMattina SS / RHP / Cosby, VA / 2027

Strong and athletic 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame. Physically advanced for his age/class. Had two hits on the night to go along with three RBI. Also, worked three innings on the mound and piled up six strikeouts along the way. The velo fluctuated just a touch, depending on the situation. It was down a touch when he faced heavy traffic, or was behind in counts. When he was "in rhythm" and comfortable, he was consistently 86-88 and touched 89 twice. The breaking ball was the finisher. Low to mid 70's with slurvy shape. Was hard to decipher at times if he was going curveball early and slider late, or if it was the same pitch that he was simply adding and subtracting on. Regardless, if it was two pitches, the shapes tended to blend and it was simply a slurvy breaking ball with depth and a wider velo range. Current #5 2027 in the state and making a strong case to make a move up with his combination of present tools, projection, and two-way versatility that he brings. 

 

 

Jacob Moore OF / 2B / Cosby, VA / 2024

Moore has really filled out and has maintained the run tool. Hands stay really tight and short to the ball. Would like to see them free up some. Has some pull side tendency with the way he stays so close to the body with the hands. Above average bat and hand speed through the zone and strength to pull. 

 

 

Seth Truesdale C / OF / Cosby, VA / 2024

Having a huge senior season. Came through with some big at bats early and late in this one. Has long shown his offensive prowess, especially the power potential to pull. Showed improved bat to ball and ability to hit for average, as well as in game power. Emotional leader of this Cosby club.

 

 

Jack Weight RHP / 1B / Cosby, VA / 2024

William & Mary commit. Weight was a workhorse and battled his way deep into this start. Was 87-88 early on, held velo fairly well throughout. Did not get a ton of swing and miss on the fastball, as it tended to run back into the swing path of the right handed heavy lineup. The slider is the go to, early and late, and if he gets ahead, the mid 70's offering gives right handers a very hard time. Most of his six strikeouts came via the slider. 

 

 

Glen Allen

Alex Awad MIF / RHP / Glen Allen, VA / 2026

While Awad struggled a bit with the command, the sophomore right hander has plenty of upside on the mound. Long levered, lanky frame with a loose and whippy arm that brings some funk and a different look. Worked 84-86 and threw up a handful of 87's. Slurvy breaking ball that has a chance, just was not landing it and did not get many chases. Threw the breaking ball early in a few counts and got behind, which dictated fastball heavy counts the rest of the way. Intriguing arm to keep an eye on.

 

 

Jacob Boyd 3B / SS / Glen Allen, VA / 2026

 

 

Levi Jones C / OF / Glen Allen High School, VA / 2026

A really impressive night at the plate for Jones. Wider base, simplifies the approach, and had an accurate barrel. Was really aggressive early in counts, but when he got to even or slightly behind he still hunted pitches in the zone. Level path and worked the middle of the field with solid bat to ball skills. 

 

 

Ben Pulliam OF / SS / Glen Allen, VA / 2025

The frame was once a little thicker with visible lean strength. Pulliam has really thinned out. Started in right and later moved to center. Plenty of arm in the outfield and made a couple of really strong throws that were on line. During BP he showed the ability to impact the ball to all fields, even on mishit balls. 

 

 

Ian Baldwin 3B / RHP / Glen Allen, VA / 2025

Just felt like Baldwin was a little more under control on the mound and had less of a "throwing" feel to it. Worked a lot in the 83-84 earlier in counts, or with a runner on, but could easily grab 85-86-87 whenever he wanted. No feel and no shape to the upper 60's breaking ball, but did show a solid feel for the low 70's splitter. Although it did not always have diving action like a split tends to, he killed the spin in a pretty big way and it just did not feel like a changeup out of the hand. 

 

 

Jackson Toole 3B / OF / Glen Allen, VA / 2025

Good to see the Longwood commit healthy. Much better agility and reaction, as opposed to late summer last year. Although I do not believe he stays at third long term, the arm strength is plenty to play there. More right field/first base/left field profile. Had a single in the first and showed some hand and bat speed throught the zone.
