FINAL SCORE
Powdersville 6      Belton Honea Path  0

Packed house was present to see the Region 2-AAA Championship. BHP had won the previous game on Tuesday and came in with a lot of confidence. Both arms turned in quality starts keeping each other off the board until the 6th inning. BHP would have chances to score in 2 different innings but couldn't get a run across. Powdersville would the start the bottom of the 6th getting a quick out. Jack Hunsinger would then walk and get to third on an E1. BHP would then get another quick out making it 2 outs. A few pitches later Hunsinger would score the first run on a wild pitch. This took some pressure off Powdersville, in which the flood gates would open. Powdersville would then get a walk and 3 singles in a row. Landon Fowler would come up and hammer a HR to RF to put the game away and essentially give Powdersville the win 6-0. Blane Jordan would come out to finish the game and would go the distance and not allow a run while scattering 5 hits on 101 pitches.

Lane McGaha 2024 1B Belton Honea Path HS North Greenville Commit

Tall/physical frame with a lot of pop in the bat. Gets lift on the swing driving balls into the Gaps and over the fence. Most of his power is pullside. Strong lower half that he uses to drive baseballs. Firey player with confidence in the box. Got a hit early in the game and was intentionally walked twice due to the threat he posed.

Evan Moon 2024 C Powdersville HS USC Sumter Commit

Physical catcher that displays a high hand setup, then getting the hands/barrel through the zone at a quick rate. Displays a lot of power, oftentimes driving balls into the pullside gap. Behind the plate handles the pitching staff very well, not allowing balls to get by. Posted pop times ranging from 2.0-2.1 with quick transfers. Average speed that will put up some big number for the Patriots. Was able to catch a runner stealing at 2B with an in game pop time of 2.16. Leader on the field.

Blane Jordan RHP 2025 Powdersville HS

What a performance Jordan turned in for the Patriots. He went the distance while scattering 5 hits in 7 innings and not allowing a run. Made crucial pitches when he need to while getting a lot of ground ball outs with soft contact and roll overs. Located the FB down in the zone while mixing in breaking ball with depth. Pitchability guy that will have success due to command and poise.

Eli Hudgins 2024 SS Powdersville HS Army Commit

Coming off an injury early in the season Hudgins showed up in a big way for this huge game. He was able to collect two hits with one being a big one to score a run in the bottom of the 6th inning to put the patriots up 2-0. Athletic frame with speed, being able to stretch some hits out. True leader for his time with some fire. Balanced stance with G2G approach and good feel for the barrel. Disciplined hitter that doesn't miss his pitch.
