Each week during the high school season, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff will announce our 'Player(s) of the Week' awards for that particular week. Numerous players from across the state will continue to perform and put up numbers weekly, though only a select few can earn Player or Pitcher of the Week honors when compared on a weekly basis. Below you'll see which players have earned our 'Player of the Week' honor this spring season. We will also highlight those that fell short in our weekly 'Diamond Notes' article, where you can learn more about the standout names across the Colorado baseball landscape.

WEEK 5 COLORADO PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

Connor Larkin 1B / OF / Cherry Creek, CO / 2025 The former Future Games' standout had a strong week thanks to going 8 for 10 with a homerun, 2 stolen bases, a triple, a double, a hit by pitch, and racking up 6 RBI. Larkin is one of the top left-handed bats in the state and he is already committed to playing college baseball for the University of Oklahoma after next spring. Cherry Creek will need all of the production they can get from Larkin moving forward as they fight to be one of the top teams in the state by the end of the season.

WEEK 5 COLORADO PITCHER OF THE WEEK:

Pedro Carrillo RHP / SS / Bruce Randolph, CO / 2024 Pedro Carrillo is a name you may want to write down to monitor this spring as the uncommitted senior just tossed 7 innings with 19 strikeouts against Middle Park last Monday. Carrillo comes with a fastball in the upper 80s along with an athletic frame (also plays basketball). The senior has now pitched 9 innings with 22 strikeouts, just 3 hits allowed, 0 earned runs, and 2 walks to begin the season. Carrillo could be a late bloomer who picks up plenty of attention as we continue to monitor him this spring.
