Halifax County

Logan Clark OF / RHP / Halifax County, VA / 2026

Clark can impact the game in different ways and he did that for the Comets on Monday. He picked up a hit to get the offense going and showcased his speed on the basepaths. Clark very instinctive whether if it is on the basepaths or in the outfield tracking down flyballs. He gets good reads in the outfield tracking baseballs down for outs. There is bat speed and strength in the frame that gives him a chance to become a power bat in the future.

Garrison Colwell 3B / SS / Halifax County, VA / 2026

Colwell got a rally started for the Comets when he sent a ball into the gap for a double. It's a lean compact frame with a swing that creates natural loft that showcases some strength to the pull side. Defensively at third he showed natural hands making a nice play on a slow roller later in the game. There is some position versatility to where Colwell could play different positions in the infield. A underclassman that looks to be part of the future for the Comets.

Carter Thomasson C / RHP / Halifax, VA / 2026

It was a two hit night for Thomasson using the whole field in his at bats. It is a strong compact frame that shows obvious strength especially to the pull side at the plate. He has quick hands that get through the zone quickly with intent. Behind the plate he shows above average arm strength with quick exchanges. Strength plays a big part of his game and getting to it consistently will be huge for his future success.

Magna Vista

Luke Haynes RHP / SS / Magna Vista, VA / 2024

Haynes got the start for Magna Vista and he was locked in early. It is a short quick arm from a high 3/4 slot. The fastball was 83-86 touching 87 that set hitters up for the secondary. He showed feel for both the curveball and slider getting swing and miss on both later in counts. Haynes threw six strong innings picking up eleven strikeouts in his outing. The Patrick Henry commit secondary stuff gives him a good chance to succeed at the next level.

Simeon Moore OF / RHP / Magna Vista, VA / 2026

Moore can impact the game in many ways. It is a strong athletic frame at the top of the Magna Vista lineup that was on barrel in his at bats. He has pitch recognition with an aggressive feel for pitches in the zone. The hands have rhythm with a slightly uphill barrel path working gap to gap. He showed his speed tracking down fly balls in center in game. A pure athlete that can impact the game every day in different ways.

James River (Midlothian)

Callum Early SS / 2B / James River (Midlothian), VA / 2024

Early had the fireworks for the offense with two extra base hits including the big three run homerun that opened up the game. Early was aggressive in his at bats swinging at pitches in the zone while still having a good eye for the zone. He has added strength and more lift to his swing impacting baseballs to the pull side. He continues to be a sure handed shortstop with athleticism and speed.

Garnett Power LHP / James River (Midlothian), VA / 2025

Power got the start on the mound working three innings picking up four strikeouts. It is more of a up tempo delivery with late intent.  He worked the fastball at 82-84 getting some swing and miss in the zone. He flashed the breaking ball to keep hitters off balance. He competed and made pitches when needed to get back into the dugout.

Nate Reed RHP / OF / James River (Midlothian), VA / 2026

Reed got on the mound for a quick inning of work and was strong. He displayed a three pitch mix and got quick outs. The fastball was 85-87 with late life. Reed showed the ability to land the secondary for strikes mixing the curveball early in counts. The changeup was effective with some late fading action getting weak contact. It is a long 6-5 200-lb frame with still room to add strength. There is two way intrigue with the sophomore.

Manchester

Jackson Wise SS / 3B / Manchester, VA / 2024

Wise was the player of the night for Manchester. He had a multi-hit night including two homeruns that supplied the offense. Wise is the table setter in the leadoff spot and he was nothing short of that. He took the first pitch of the game to dead center to put them on the board early. He followed up in his second at bat battling in a two strike count sending a pitch back out to center for his second homerun. Wise is short to the ball producing natural loft in his swing. He's big time offensive player to go along with fluid defender in the infield for Manchester.

Louisa

Eric Davis OF / LHP / Louisa County, VA / 2026

Davis had a big hit late for Louisa that jump started the offense to rally to the win. It is a quiet balanced setup with a level barrel path at the plate. He works gap to gap in his approach with strength to his pull side. He is patient at the plate working a lot in deep counts. The bat to ball will need to increase but he does have strength present to impact baseballs. He's someone to keep an eye on has he develops.

Jayden Thompson SS / RHP / Louisa, VA / 2026

Thompson got the start on the mound for Louisa and he controlled the game from start to finish. He attacked the strike zone and mixed pitches in his start. He worked low in the zone with the fastball getting weak contact in the low eighties working up to 84. He landed the curveball for strikes and used it late in the count to put away hitters. He worked nine innings with nine strikeouts on the night. He also chipped in on the offense side picking up a couple of hits on the night. It was a solid outing all around for the sophomore.

Levi Wilson 3B / LOUISA COUNTY HIGH, VA / 2026

Wilson put together some strong competitive at bats on the night. He caught a barrel that was ran down in the gap then followed it up with a double down the left field line. He shows an aggressive approach with zone awareness. There is strength present especially in the pull side. He uses the big part of the field looking to lift the baseball. Defensively he got the start at third. He displayed natural hands and some arm strength from the left side. With already having bat to ball skills and strength present, Wilson could become a corner power bat in the future as he continues to develop.

Western Albemarle

Julian Miles OF / LHP / Western Albemarle, VA / 2025

Miles picked up a couple of hits on the night being aggressive in his at bats and putting pressure on the defense. He keeps a simple approach with a wider base that lets the hands work. He showed the ability to use the whole field with one of hits being a hard line drive to the backside. He also showcased some speed being aggressive and swiping a bag early in the game. It's a corner outfield profile that is scrappy at the plate looking to make things happen.

Smith Winslow RHP / OF / Western Albemarle, VA / 2026

Winslow got the start and threw two strong innings to give the staff a strong start to the night. He moves well down the mound with pace and intent. The fastball had late arm side run that he ran under right handed hitters hands for weak contact at 81-83 touching 84. He landed the curveball for strikes early in the count and showed the ability to bury the curveball with two strikes getting some swing and miss. Winslow is a arm Western Albemarle can lean on in the future that shows some pitch ability.

Cosby

Stephen Hawkins C / OF / Cosby, VA / 2025

Hawkins had some fireworks happen for the Cosby offense on Friday with a two run homerun that went out of deep left field to extend their lead. Hawkins has a quiet setup with quick hands rips through the zone with intent. He works gap to gap with most of the power coming from the pull side. Defensively Hawkins was strong behind the plate using soft hands to steal strikes. Hawkins hits in game in and produces with sneaky power. He will be a important to the Titan's success heading into the playoffs.

Blake LaMattina SS / RHP / Cosby, VA / 2027

The freshman has been a key addition to the middle of the Cosby lineup. He has produced offensively as well as locking down the hot corner. He continued to produce offensively with a multi-hit day. He showed adjustability and maturity taking what the pitcher gave him and stayed in his approach. He uses the middle to pull side of the field at the plate. It is a strong, physical frame that can impact baseballs regularly. There are fluid actions defensively with enough arm strength to stay on the left side. LaMattina is one of the top players in the 2027 class and the future is bright.

Jack Weight RHP / 1B / Cosby, VA / 2024

Weight got the start for Cosby and he made huge pitches throughout. He threw six strong innings picking up eight strikeouts. He used the fastball early in the count to get ahead that was up to 89 settling in at 85-88. He had feel for the slider early keeping hitters off balance getting swing and miss for strikeouts. It was a strong start showing the composure to make the big pitches to get off the field. He will be a big arm for them to lean on as the playoffs start to get closer.

Thomas Dale

Jordan Brown C / Thomas Dale, VA / 2027

I was impressed with the freshman in his first at bat. He came up with a runner in scoring position and was on time for an upper eighties fastball and caught a barrel that was ran down in the left center gap for a sacrifice fly. He went on to have competitive at bats eventually picking up a hit later in the game. There was poise and aggressiveness at the plate that was impressive for a freshman against a veteran arm. All together it was positive things to take away from the freshman catcher.

Garrett Spears OF / OF / Thomas Dale, VA / 2026

Spears picked up a hit in his first at bat being on time for a fastball on the outer half and sending it back up the middle for a single. Spears shows the ability to use the whole field being comfortable to go the other way and use the big part of the field. It is a quick uphill barrel with quiet hands. It is a corner outfield profile with some bat to ball skills offensively.
