Week in Review returns to preview what's in store for Prep Baseball in 2026. Draft HQ begins to answer questions that are in the air regarding the 2026 MLB Draft along with previewing the 24th annual Super 60 Pro Showcase on Sunday, February 1. The Preseason ID events are in full swing, preparing players and scouts for the spring season, the launch of Capacity Sports Group, previews from JUCO Wire, uncommitted spotlights, Prep Baseball Shop deals and more.


CAPACITY SPORTS GROUP

 

On Wednesday, January 7, Prep Baseball and Bullpen Tournaments announced the completion of their merger and the launch of 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 (𝐂𝐒𝐆). The combined organization is the nation’s only fully integrated venue management and youth sports platform, uniting facilities, events, scouting, media, technology, and teams under one operating model.

From Thursday, January 8 to Sunday, January 12, the 2026 American Baseball Coaches Association held its annual convention in Columbus, Ohio. Throughout the event, Prep Baseball and its partners were set up providing coaches with the latest on the evolution in scouting, development, technology and more in the world of baseball.

Super 60: Less than one month away from the 24th Super 60 Pro Showcase on Sunday, February 1, this year’s roster is loaded with some of the classes’ top-ranked talent. Historically, the event has featured the likes of 2025 8th overall pick, JoJo Parker (Toronto Blue Jays, Purvis, MS), 2024 25th overall pick, Kash Mayfield (San Diego Padres, Elk City, OK), 2023 3rd overall pick Max Clark (Detroit Tigers, Franklin, IN) and more. The ‘Hotlist’: In the first ‘Hotlist’ of 2026, Prep Baseball scouting directors gave their picks for 2026 draft-eligible prospects that excite them to watch in the upcoming spring. Across the country and in Canada, the list includes talent that’s been featured in marquee events such as the All-American Game, Futures Game and some are slated to appear at the upcoming Super 60 along with other prospects who can elevate their stock. Tournaments: The 2026 Prep Baseball Tournament schedule is now live. From youth to high school, Prep Baseball Tournaments offer events for various age groups at premiere locations across the country. Find a tournament near you and sign up today at tournaments.prepbaseballreport.com.

Preseason ID: Before the 2026 spring season, the Preseason ID event kicks off as an identifier event for scouts and college recruiters to start their list of prospects to follow. Prospects have also shown some of their best performances in the event being at their freshest after rest and targeted off-season training, resulting in big gains, updating their Prep Baseball profile.

Rising Stars ID: Geared towards the 13U and 14U prospects in the classes of 2030 and 2031, the Rising Stars ID serves as an introductory event to Prep Baseball. A starting point for any player with aspirations to play at the next level, the Rising Stars is an educational experience that guides a prospect through the process of a showcase.

The event takes players through the basic skills testing with a more hands-on approach from scouting directors and staff to help create the baseline for prospects to improve upon in their careers. It will also introduce them to the data aspects behind the technology that sets Prep Baseball and its evaluation apart. The Rising Stars ID will also act as an identifier for future events such as the Junior Future Games at LakePoint Sports and provide an early preview into players who may end up on Prep Baseball rankings.
